I'm am resently separated, after 5 years of marriage. I am looking for friends to talk to, or maybe just some words of encouragement to get me threw. Nights and early mornings are the hardest for me to cope with being alone. Does anyone have any advice on how to help?

Wow. New here. . Not sure why your note touched me, but I'm in tears. It's been almost 25 years since I suddenly found myself single. Even if that was a good thing, it was like flying blind with no idea where I was going. Trying to imagine my life as something different. . . Like the world was racing by and my feet were stuck in concrete. At the same time, it was hard to "just be" ; like if I stopped moving, I'd never get back up. Even now, I have learned that sometimes I have to be still long enough to let the sadness have its moment-- the more I fight against it, the stronger the sadness gets; but if I slow down, acknowledge the grief/disappointment/regret/hurt/loneliness, I can then take a breath and get moving again. . .still carrying a bit of that cloud in my "emotional backpack", but not letting it drag me under this time.

Thank you so much for your words. They hit so hard to how I feel right now. The " just to be" part of my life is a seriously hard part. It's been 5 day and the only thing I can say is I'm fighting to stay alive everyday but I'm here today!

Hello, thank you for sharing this. I am in a similar situation and i understand the morning and nights thing so well. Try to focus on you. Take care of yourself, do anything you consider self care for you. It’s an uncomfortable feeling to sit with but it gets easier everyday. And you made a great step by coming on here and talking to others that understand! 💜
