So were a system, multiple people in one body here (though we dont have DID/MPD), and one of us is a demigirl nonbinary lesbian. Were considering going on Testoserone (AFAB here) because that will make the majority of us more comfortable, but if Sxecs (the one of us who is a nonbinary lesbian) is fronting and we appear more masculine, will it confuse the heck out of cis lesbians and/or singlets (people who dont have a system) and lead to us being pushed out of lesbian community spaces? Its a concern we have as I (Luna here) really want to support Sxecs, but I dont know how to.

@charmingSkies7528 I'm pretty sure presenting as masculine should be the least of your worries about confusing others 😂😂😂 (I'm personally not comfortable with turning a complicated trauma-based disorder into a "commodity" but whatever. Teens, tumblr, what can you do 😅)

Jokes aside, I feel like the best way to go about this is to just wait...you're still a teen, it sounds like you're still figuring yourself out. I know it can be super confusing and very easy to be influenced by stuff you see online, but just give yourself some time. There's no race to date others, or to start hormones, and I think everyone involved would benefit from giving this more thought and time.

As for dating, really the right person will like you no matter what. Not everyone is attracted to the masculine look, or nonbinary people, or certain personalities, and so on. That's just how the world is. Some people will get confused or not get it, that's life. You might not be accepted into every LGBT space, because they're made of humans and they can have biases, dislikes, and have judgements, because that's what humans do. But what should be important is focusing on yourself, what makes you feel the most comfortable, and when you do that, you'll already know that whoever is interested in you is okay with all aspects of you. It's a matter of finding the right people/group and going from there.

@FoxPrince Weve been thinking about this for 4 years so far and going on testoserone would greatly improve how were feeling. We get that theres no rush, and have no hurry to date anyone, just that transitioning would make us feel more comfortable. We dont appreciate the jokes (being reminded of discourse is not appreciated as weve been called toys that are non-existent and just a joke multiple times when we really exist and have been misdiagnosed with DID for a long while by medical professionals which was really frustrating and they wouldnt listen to us saying that were simply endogenic...sigh).

@charmingSkies7528 Seriously, grow up. If you can't handle someone saying a basic, general opinion without crying "boo-hoo, discourse :'(" then you're not ready for dating. And probably not ready for making big decisions like starting hormones. You might feel like 4 years means it's a for-sure thing, but your age matters too. Things change a lot as you grow out of being a teen, even things that felt like they were so certain and lasted so long. I'm living proof of that, that's for sure.

But oh, I lied, my actual biggest tip is to just stop using tumblr. It's a garbage place filled with awful people that just manipulate people like yourself into also being awful people. Even if you feel like it's supportive, I promise you, it's not. You'll thank yourself, you'll have to deal with so much less negativity, and less being manipulated while you're still very impressionable, and you can start to develop your own personality instead of just absorbing and regurgitating whatever you are exposed to. Because I know 100% you didn't get this way (saying the things you're saying/identifying the way you're identifying) on your own, that's for sure. Seriously, I spent years and years on there and oh my god, I would never go back. Best decision I made was to leave it, that's one very good way to support yourself.

I don't even have to ask if you go tumblr to know that...you do. That's how generic and boring this is. You're not "endogenic" (a term which is seriously disrespectful to those who suffer through trauma and dissociative mental illness) and you don't have DID, you're just a kid that spends too much time on tumblr and is unable to listen to anything that doesn't validate your pre-set beliefs about yourself. This annoyed, frustrated, anxious feeling I have inside right now is exactly the reason I stopped using tumblr, to get away from the negativity and stupidity. I would appreciate if you didn't bring it here too. I don't like feeling like this.

Hey everyone in this awesome thread! This is just a reminder to be supportive and respectful of all identities and sexualities. No matter how a specific person may identify or what a person is going through, they deserve both respect and support from others. If your opinions are not constructive and appropriate, then please do not share them here. This thread, along with all others, is to be used for support and should not be used to talk about others in a joking/non-respectful way. Thank you! heart

@charmingSkies7528 there are plenty of lesbians who appear masculine so i dont know why that would confuse anyone at all in the lesbian community a female presenting more masculine is not unusual or confusing although if your going to transition to be a man lesbians who are all women would no longer consider you a lesbian but a transgender male which in effect you would be and no longer a lesbian so their might be some disappointment down the road if your wanting to transition but at the same time want to be accepted within the lesbian community
