Imposter Syndrome
If I try to tell you my entire life story and how I got to this point, I would be writing a book. I've been through extensive trauma and sexual abuse ever since I was 8 years old. My sexuality confuses me. Everyone says that my bisexuality is valid and real, but my therapist doesn't seem convinced, and I've had people tell me I'm straight anyway...
Here's how it is: I'm mostly physically attracted to men, but I really can't connect with them on a deep, deep level. I have fallen in love twice in my life, and both objects of my affection were women. I was physically attracted to them, too. But I don't find myself with strong feelings of lust for women as often I as I do for men. But my feelings for men are so incredibly shallow. It's like, "He's hot" and then it's like, "Yeah, but, what else?" There's never anything else.
Right now, I find myself having a crush with a gay man who volunteers with me (ironic, I know). But my love for him is surface-level and temporary (thank god, considering he's gay). This is so damn confusing. Am I bisexual, or an imposter? Does anyone else feel like this?

You are not an imposter 🧡
Only you know what feels comfortable with you.
No one else knows that 🧡
I'm so sorry to hear all that you have struggled 💛
Give yourself the space to navigate what feels right for you 💛
