Hello friends I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right place but here goes, I find myself in the beginning stages of a relationship with a 39-year-old woman that is in recovery she's been clean approximately 1 year She has had addiction problems since her early twenties. For her addiction has been usually an intense 6-month period then she's clean for another 6 months. Her main drug has been crack at once she starts she usually finds herself on the streets doing  prostitution whatever it takes to pay for her addiction. Her problems are so foreign to me I've never had any type of addiction issue. She's a good person but every part of me feels like I need to get out of this situation

Addiction in a partner is tough.  no one can blame you for that part that says this is not for you.

I can imagine tougher if you have never been around addiction issues.

@toughTiger6481 this certainly has not been easy and it's not just the addiction but the activities that happened while she was using. She did tell me that no one will probably love her because of her past and unfortunately maybe I'm just reinforcing that.

I will tell you that high risk lifestyle often has long term effects and while we would love to assure someone that all is ok about the rough path they had traveled but a piece of us is concerned.
