porn addiction
i'm 17 and ever since i was around 11 ? i've watched porn. i don't know how much i can say on here, but it feels like it's become more like an obsession/addiction rather than a one-in-a-time enjoyment. can any (especially older) guys relate to this and give some advice?

@y0unganddumb same here bro I was exposed to porn at 11 by my friend and now I'm suffering for 8 years with this trash ,I used to watch it often till 16 then i discovered masturbation and started doing it for 3 years now I'm 19 and it's been 1 year of me trying my best to stop this and I'm a hardcore introvert so no social life ,just me and silence so it's hard to get that dopamine which I get from porn , my max days of being clean was 20 and im standing at 1 as i write this . I'm becoming better to fight this , usually the trick is to avoid it and indulge in some other works , or the quote fake it until u make it helps a lot
Bro we're literally the same. I was exposed to it when I was around 14 by my cousin and started masterbation at 17 and it's been 3 years. The first 2 years I didn't even thought of stopping. I just enjoyed myself trying every genre and finding what I like and stuff. I'm also an introvert so it was easy to indulge myself since I didn't have much to do and was mostly alone. But last year I started seeing the consequences of this addiction, and it's been half a year of struggle to stop it. In a way I have decreased my porn consumption, but it only lead to other paths. Like playing games, reading hentai, etc. Lastly this last few weeks I even tried holding my ejaculation hoping for a change, and that only to other problems

Just like any other addiction, you need to break yourself of it or it will damage or destroy you. There are guides out there for this if you search for them. It may take some time and don't beat yourself up if you slip up, just start again. Also with most addictions, there is a thought or feeling that you're trying to avoid (loneliness, emptiness, shame, guilt, etc) and finding a way to meet those needs in a healthy way.
Find a SA group near you. There are a ton of young people your age suffering from the same thing. When I first started in the groups 10 years ago the ave age was 50 ...its probably 30 now....
I think it is quite normal for some to go through a porn phase at a teens age and it's always starts with the fascination of it and the learning, also as a way to *** of course, but although I was there too when I was a teen I imagine I was fortunate to not gain the addiction which was strange because I watched it am awful lot to the point I would steal my dad's porn because back then that is all there was I am guessing cause it was so hard to access it I was able to overcome an addiction but because of the internet amd it being so easily available I feel for those that have his issue it's a healthy thing as long as it doesn't start to run your life, my heart goes out to you and hope you find solutions that work for you 💙

DM ME BRO I WILL SURELY HELPS YOU
We have the exact same story.
Except that I'm a girl.
In my experience once I was able to set my mind that I didn’t want to watch porn anymore I’ve been able to stay away from it. Every few months will slip up for one day because I will think it’s not that big of a deal. The problem is porn is that there is really no research that it’s bad for you to be honest. I mainly avoid myself because I get OCD if I watch it and think I’ve harmed myself but in reality there no good research only *** studies that show it’s bad. There a urologist on YouTube that talks about the myths as well as a porn research and they say all these claims online are basically not true. That’s just what I’ve read take everything I say with a grain of salt.
