Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

This weekend, I decided to finally finish the book I had downloaded for a few weeks! It is called the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It is a great book, I must say. It gave me so many answers and insights that I was looking for. If you are open for it, it can definitely help you further in life.

'To make the journey into the Now we will need to leave our analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. From the very first page of Eckhart Tolle's extraordinary book, we move rapidly into a significantly higher altitude where we breathe a lighter air. We become connected to the indestructible essence of our Being, "The eternal, ever present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death." Although the journey is challenging, Eckhart Tolle uses simple language and an easy question and answer format to guide us. A word of mouth phenomenon since its first publication, The Power of Now is one of those rare books with the power to create an experience in readers, one that can radically change their lives for the better.'

I am sure you can find your book in the local library or book store, but you can also download it!

This book also has a follow up about practicing the Power of Now with Essential Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from the Power of Now. I haven't read this one but I am working towards that!

@ButterflySiel

Thank you for the download link!

I'd recommend anything but Jon Kabat Zinn. His books have sort of been my gateway to mindfulness.

I love getting and receiving book recommendations!

Books that have helped my mental health:

The Body Keeps the Score (about how trauma is embodied and how to heal it)

The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert (about the science of compassion and how self compassion can soothe and alleviate difficult feelings like anxiety and anger).

The Mindful Way through Anxiety (I admit I never finished this but it informed a lot of the progress I made in my 20s in dealing with anxiety)

I also found a book called Pride Not Prejudice helpful because it helped me feel differently about being disabled. And I'm sure if someone is dealing with a particular stigma, that there's a book out there challenging it that would be helpful to read.

I've always wanted to read Jon Kabat Zinn but I've never gotten around to it.

Recommendation requests:

Anyone read anything by Brene Brown or Kristen Neff? Both authors I'm curious about.

And any recommendations for books about setting boundaries?

The best books about mental health and psychology:

Seligman - Flourishing. Martin Seligman Is one of the best world psychologists, he used to be president of americas psychology society and he is professor at Pennsylvania University. He found out the Field of Positive psychology and made therapy focused on good things, grafitude, strenghts...

Duckworth - Grit. Easy to read but still very useful scientific book about powerwill and reaching goals.

Panda (what an awesome name!) - Circadian Code. Sleep, food, exercise, routines and so. It is so much important for mental health.

Norcross, Prochaska, DiClement - Changing For Good. The best book about making a life change.

I haven't read the power of now but I've read a new earth. It talks mainly on the topic of the ego and how if we learn to recognise the ego in ourselves, we can drop it and this will create "a new earth" as the ego is the enemy,.
