Mindfulness will not turn off or stop negative thoughts from happening but it will change how you relate to them. When you cultivate detached awarenesses you are observing the mind's critics without being swept up in the drama.

It takes some time to get over negative thoughts. When we have negative thoughts we always think of the worst outcomes of what can happen to us.  Your inner mind becomes loud and forceful with negativity. When we are off in our lives we become anxious, stressed, sick, and sturggling with mental health issues.

Negative thinking become a nagging pattern in our minds and can become repetitive and unhelpful.  It is okay at times to experience negative feelings but how you come out of those feelings matter most.  Our mind's allow us to see the ngative and process it in a correct way.

Negative thinking comes from:

Not letting go of the past: we keep dweelling back to past experiences and dwell on the situations.

Worrying about your future:  We wonder what our future will be bring us before we are even there. We begin to worry about what the future holds for us.

Toxic dialogues: we begin to self doubt yourself of things, ex: Your're not good enoyugh for that person ? Nobody likes you is why you do not have friends? You begin to self doubt yourself.

Fixating the problem:  you begin to hyper focus on the negativity and not try to turn it into a positive.

When we recognize the negative and access it we can then properly work on changing the naegative patterns.

Here are 4 positive ways to turn negativity around:

Practice Mindfulness:  Mindfulness is the process of noticing the negativity we have and change them. We begin to question are these thoughts real or fake. We come up with ways to fix them so they no longer bother us.

Recognize the distorted feelings: Distorted thinking is an assessment which lends itself to a negative pattern. When we begin to notice red flag we can use cognitive behavior and change this.

Try more self-compassion:  We need to love and appreciate who we are before we can show it to other people. When we are not all there others may notice it before we do. We need to say " I am worthy and what I think matters? "I can fix this problem, I did it once before and I can do it again".

Focus on the positivity:  Focus on the positive solution to a problem and work to succed it and get rid of the negative thoughts.

How can you stop the negative thoughts you may have?

How can you eliminate these thoughts from reoccurring again?

Negative thourghts is something I have struggled with for years, the advice you mentioned above is good. I find reframing thourghts can help me change a negative one into a positive one, mindfulness activities help switch off my negative thourghts for a while also talking to someone who is positive and cares about you helps too.

I do struggle with negative thourghts not reaccuring as I ruminate a lot but I find it's best not to be around negative people if you can as you just absorb their negativity.
