When you combine kindness and mindfulness, you get what is called "kindfulness." This transforms mental health through self-compassion, reducing reactivity, and enhancing empathy. When you practice mindfulness, you are practicing being in the present state of mind, the now, right this moment phase.

When practicing mindfulness without being kind, you are being cold, but pairing the two together brings warm, nurturing well-being and reduces any anxiety you may have. Kindness helps you not judge yourself for things going wrong or for something that turned out bad.

You begin to notice when things are not going the way you want, and practicing mindfulness brings you back to the state of mind you're in to think things over and practice resilience. We do not want to battle with ourselves or misjudge ourselves when things go wrong; we'd rather rebuild ourselves back to being who we are.

How can you practice kindness and mindfulness together?

By asking questions, am I kind to myself?

Do I put myself last?

Do I put too much pressure on myself?

Do I neglect my own needs?

Emotionally?

Physically?

Self hygiene?

Financially?

Spiritually?

Do I stick to boundaries?

Being mindful opens the path to exploring such questions and leads to healing 💛

How can you practice kindness and mindfulness together?

I practice kindness and mindfulness together by slowing down and being more intentional in how I respond to myself and others.

Mindfulness helps me become aware of my thoughts and emotions, while kindness reminds me to approach them with understanding rather than criticism.

Even simple actions, such as listening attentively or speaking gently, can reflect both practices.
