Who Are You? 🎭

🌟Hello everyone,🤍

🌟I hope you're doing well.🤍

🌟Today's article is more of an open discussion or rather, a survey centered around a question that has followed humanity for centuries:

🌟Who am I?

🌟Are you defined by your relationships, your thoughts, your feelings, your values, or your actions? Are you the person you were born as, or the person you have become through your experiences and choices?

🌟If all the labels were stripped away, who would remain?

🌟I'd love to hear your thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives on this question. How do you define yourself? Is identity something we are born with, or something we create over time? And what does identity mean to you?

🌟I'll be using your insights and reflections in my next article, which will explore this profound question and the philosophy behind the search for identity from different perspectives.

🌟I'm truly looking forward to reading every comment. Questions like this fascinate me, and I'm excited to learn from your perspectives and experiences.💓

I love the poetry in your words. Made me think of an Emily Dickinson poem called “I am nobody” it’s excellent.

“I am nobody, are you nobody too? Now there’s two of us…” I can’t remember all of it, but it’s short and well worth looking up!

I am kind, a caregiver by nature and I try to use humor to comfort. I’m learning to stand up for myself, which doesn’t always go as planned because I am also human and I fail quite often. But I am resilient, and I always come back to do better once I know better.

I do not know who I am. I only know that I exist and, that there a people I love so much that I sacrificed myself over and over to care for and protect. I am now in pieces. I am now only a shell of a human being.

It's unfortunate that we sometimes sacrifice ourselves to the point of breaking, but this is not the end of the story. You are still here, still alive, and still breathing. You still have the ability to rebuild yourself and shape your story the way you want it to be. I hope your life will be filled with hope, joy, and brighter days ahead🌱

I am a product of my environment, my thoughts and actions and experiences. I think we are born as a blank canvas and the paint brush of life slaps on colors, shapes, lines and textures. As time passes we in our youth, adulthood and old age add collages of experiences, thick, ugly, beautiful, thin lines. We can reinvent ourselves by painting over the canvas and starting over.

At 7 cups, I’m looking at my canvas of colorful and muddy messes and at this time, I want to paint over it but stuck with what I should paint afterwards. Maybe I’ll be daring and just open a tube of color without thought and lay a path on the canvas and see what happens.

Your artistic way of describing yourself and the world around you is incredibly creative, and I find myself agreeing with it a lot. Do you think that the shape of the canvas whether it's circular, square, or perhaps triangular or whether its frame is made of iron, brass, or plastic, and even the type of fabric, its texture, and how it absorbs and holds color, represents the innate traits we are born with?

I hope you paint on your canvas whatever truly inspires you and reflects what you genuinely want. And remember, there are no limits to art.

i'm a girl who loves her family. i love quiet spaces and nature. i love soaking up the sun at a park. i love dance and music. dancing with others makes me feel like i'm part of something greater. i am passionate about my work. i am ambitious. i am gentle and strong. i am kind, but i am stepping away from being the giver, the nice person, the people pleaser. i am not endlessly warm. i am human. i am going into healthcare. i love reading. i love food. i love singing with others. i love going to cafes.

i've really struggled with this question, especially recently, but looking back at my answer, i guess i am defined by what i love.

I'm genuinely glad to hear that you've found what you love, what brings you happiness, and what gives you a sense of belonging. I hope you continue to cherish those things and that happiness always finds its way to you.💛

@Ola143

This topic remains somewhat of a grey area for me, but in appreciation of the thoughtful post, I’d like to offer my perspective:

I dont really know what defines a person. I feel it depends on what am I defining a person against.

To my mother, Im her child. To my children, Im their protector. My hero is a villain to someone els.

What is logic to the spider is chaos to the fly.

I don't believe parts of our pure new born self disappear or completely transform. most of us are still who they we were born as.

we simply evolve. . . every day.

I know my response is a kind of creepy, i dont mind being defined by my nature.

Your response is not creepy. In fact, it contains a great deal of truth and aligns with much of what I have read while searching for a satisfying answer to include in my upcoming article
