I understand the message in terms of being humble among the rest of Nature.
But in terms of responsibility, we are not just one more species on this planet.
The impact of humans on our planet is so powerful, that many scientists define our current geological time as the "Anthropocene", when the impact of humans is the deciding force on the course of Earth's geology and ecosystems, including climate change.

I've thought about this before. Humans are very complex creatures, but at the end of the day we're just another manifestation of life like other animals.

This is an interesting and insightful post. It is hard to take that in as I have viewed myself and a few others with a moderate amount of value. It is hard to be humble in a number of things. But insightful and humbling way to look at our place here (humans and the humans in my life).
