Hi everyonesmiley How are you all doing? Today I thought we look at CONTENTMENT

Hey so how many of us can truly say we are content in ALL areas in our lives??? hmmm-come on how many of you are content in where you live, your job, your sex life, your health, your money........

NO ONE can really rise and say we are fully content. And - THAT IS ALRIGHTsmiley Really it is normal not to be content with everything in life. What matters tho-is us comparing our life with others. Or a job, or a bf or gf anything we compare ourselves to another does not make us attentive to our own life and things.

So- how can we be mindfully content with "us"???

1. It helps you get out of negative thought loops

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.

So often what gets in the way of our happiness is the tendency of the mind to fall into loops of negative thinking. Mindfulness meditation helps us become more familiar with the nature of the mind and more skillful in noticing when we are getting caught in these patterns.

2. Mindfulness connects you to a sense of inner contentment

Many of us can get caught up in the hedonic treadmill, constantly needing stimulus from the outside world to give us a hit of happiness and pleasure. Whether it is money, relationships, approval, or success, this kind of happiness is dependent on transient, external factors over which we have no control. Mindfulness can help us cultivate a sense of inner well-being, which allows us to feel content without needing validation from the outside world.

3. It enhances your gratitude

The practice of mindfulness helps us to slow down, even if just for a few moments, and reconnect with what is happening from moment to moment. As we notice more of what is happening around us and within us, wonder and gratitude can spontaneously emerge. Whether its being more present to the tastes of a home-cooked meal, or connecting with something as simple and miraculous as the breath, mindfulness can infuse our lives with gratitude and enhance our appreciation of the ordinary things that so go unnoticed.

I do hope this little bit does help you in some way. A few questions here you can ask yourself or answer here.

@RumpleSteeleSkin

important - peace of mind

happy - i am satisfied with myself and in between i have very happy moments (monkey watching me, i watch monkey, monkey disappears with the last papaya on the tree, and yes that makes me happy, it is ok if he has the last one)

what makes me happy - apart from monkey the ability to feel ok, to feel in harmony with nature

What is important for you?

My daughter, my cats, my stability and comfort, social justice, community, life...

Are you happy?

Truthfully, no. But I'm working on it. And getting better.

What makes you happy?

Spending time with my daughter. With my mental health being what it is at the moment, along with various other factors beyond anyone's control, our time together is limited. But I treasure every moment.

Which of your needs are not being met?

Comfort in my own skin, a sense of purpose, a solid routine, self compassion on a consistent basis, regular exercise, eating properly. Am working on it, as I said. Mindful practice is one part of the process. It takes time, and patience (which I'm especially in need of lol).

@melliotm

Hi there Millismiley Good to see you checking in for today. I love what you shared here. Im sorry to hear that you are not happy. But really who really is happy all the time? And great you are working on things to make you happy!!!! aaww on the things that make you happy. And I liked how you shared with things "not in your control" once we learn to let go of that part in our lives we really see the freedom we have. Thank you being so open on the needs you still need met. I also like that you didn't mention what you think others need to do in order for you to feel right. I know in time as you allow yourself to heal and practicing things all this you will feel met.

Im proud of you Melliheart
