"If you can be as aware of your emotions and thoughts as you are of your other daily experiences — without judgment — you'll be better able to deal with new situations because you'll know yourself better. You'll be more accepting of yourself, your thoughts and your emotions." - Daniel Goleman

Self-awareness isn't about how you perceive yourself, how you see. It's also understanding and acknowledging how other's see you. Self-Awareness has two parts- Internal and External. By internal, it means how you see yourself. External means how other's see us. Good news that anyone can become self-aware as long as they're ready to put energy, time and efforts to practice it.

How to become more self-aware by Eurich

It is an amazing video in which Eurich sharing tips and thoughts to be more self-aware. Eurich suggests asking "What" rather than "Why" to practice self-awareness effectively. I think one of the step in timproving one's self-awareness is to be learner of own behavior. Asking questions to know and understand how they see you. You may get surprised to know how they think about you. Take those thoughts as tools to know yourself better. The better you know, the better you will know what you want and how to get it.

So, what're your thoughts? How do others see you? Let's discuss!! smiley

I am not so self-aware as I would like to be but one thing I did learn in the video was to stop asking WHY and turn that into What

@ASilentObserver I think self-awareness is one of the biggest changes I made in helping me to feel better and make progress, but I guess moving forwards and progressing is more import than always looking back and trying to understand where something came from.

Great video, thank you for sharing! Self-awareness is important so we can have a better understanding of ourselves, having a clear perception of our personality. It can also motivate us and help us manage our stress better, so we are able to make changes and improve on our weaknesses.

@ASilentObserver

I've always been interested about how others see me. What do they say about me to other people? What do they think of me? I'm not sure if I can guess though, I'm kinda bad at judging someone else's character and thoughts, even my own sometimes.

I have been becoming better at self-awareness thanks to 7-cups though, especially in relation to self-care. Now, whenever I don't feel good, which means, I feel like something is off in a negative way, I pause, and try to figure out what it is. I do a full body check, is something hurting? Is my breathing eratic, is my mind racing? Then I go through my self-care checklist. When have I last eaten/drunk something? Do I need to walk/take a shower/nap? Have I done enough for today, do I need to sit back for now? Could I benefit from practising some yoga/do some exercise? And if all else fails, I like to meditate for a bit smiley

Anyway, my point was, that recently I've become aware that I've become better at self-awareness and self-care, and I'm pretty sure it is thanks to 7-cups, and the daily check-ins especially, because they've helped me practise.

Really, thanks for that heart
