Mindfulness Daily Check-In September 1, 2017
Hello everyone ! September is here and I am excited to start it. What about you?
Reflecting on the previous month and having a vision for the new one can be very effective. To help you with that here are some question, you can answer and share with us !
What did go well for you in August from the perspective of practicing/adopting mindfulness in life? Did you try or learn something new? If yes, how did you feel?
What are some of the difficulties you encountered to embrace mindfulness in August? (Remember : It's no weakness or fault to face difficulties in practicing mindfulness. It can be hard to start and continue. It's okay if you feel that you couldn't do much or even at all. You can share with us)
Are you thinking of any plan to adopt mindfulness in life more in September? If so, what are they?

Let's embrace September with mindfulness !!!

@SunFern
Hiya Sun
Thank you for this check-in. I love it!! TBH I don't do to well with reflection, but I am going to sit this weekend and reflect of the "good" I have done as well as the good others did to me.
Thank you again Sun for this wonderful post
@RumpleSteeleSkin i am glad that you like it !
your idea of reflection sounds very good, Rumple. it's a great thing to look back to the goodness done and received. When I try to reflect this, I feel very good and it calms me down ! i hope it goes well for you too
@SunFern To be completely honest, I think August was potentially the least mindful month of my life - I seem to have spent the whole month (maybe more) trapped inside my head to the point where there is very little I actually recall doing, I'm sure I did try to do some mindfulness activities, but probably had more difficulty than usual with them. Since yesterday I've been better able to escape getting trapped in those thoughts, so I'm hoping that will continue to improve throughout September... I'm going to try to look around at things more - even a few nights ago, seeing the sun set over the trees was sort of like suddenly being able to see again for a minute before getting dragged back inside my head. I'm not sure any of that makes much sense?
But I guess for September, to spend more time focussing on external things, being outside, creating things, being around people, not spending so much time on devices which seem to just suck you in for hours without realising.
@AMusicalSilence sorry to hear that you had some struggles in August to stay mindful. and i can relate to that. sometimes we stay trapped in thoughts in our mind so much that we find it hard to recall things or relate to reality later on.
i am glad that you're improving from that. hope your journey continues to September as well. and your plan seems really wonderful. you know..i am a big nature lover
so...
i can't agree more with your last point. it's a trap that many times we get stuck with devices so much without realizing that it affects our life. the balance is really important.
@AMusicalSilence
Just poppin in to say hiya Silence
@RumpleSteeleSkin Hello hello
(Oh also I saw this the other night and it took me so long to figure out what was wrong with it haha, how about you?)

@AMusicalSilence
His trunk in mouth
@RumpleSteeleSkin haha that's what I thought, ear didn't look even remotely out of place
I spent August working so I didn't really have much time to even focus on anything with mindfulness, I however am sick right now so I'm hoping to just relax and get myself back healthy so that I can practise more on mindfulness.
@astray
Just saying a "Hellll-ooooooo" Ashtray
Oh wow now I want jello saying hello to you
weird me-lol
@SunFern you asked " What did go well for you in August from the perspective of practicing/adopting mindfulness in life?"
Well the biggest thing was to clean out the closets and storage places and realize that all these things are not where I get my joy, although sometime they help to patch a hole or fix something in the house.
My joy is from being, here, right now. In this moment I can experience joy. Joy, for no reason. Joy, no matter what I am going through, even if I would rather not be going through this.
Of course today I feel that more than I usually do, but it is a growing feeling that joy does not come from doing as much as from being, and being aware of right now. Things are useful and I do not reject them, but I do not think they will solve my fundamental problem of realizing who I am.
@soulsings
Hiya Soul good to see you
Wow Soul you were brave to get in all those "unknown" places were we store alot of goodies
I too have been doing that in my home. As have to others live here we do accumulate alot in a short time. I can really understand about trying to be in the here and now and feel "joy" or whatever feeling it is just accepting the "now"
Wow you shared a bit deep there in your last part.....I have to think on that part
@RumpleSteeleSkin well it was a feeling I was in when I saw something I usually do not see. Tonight the usual stuff is back. Oh well, little glimpses of how life can be.
@soulsings it's a unique thought. i love your philosphy and it's quite though-provoking ( at least for me). it's wonderful to feel joy by being present at the moment, at here. and i am glad that you're trying to pursue that.
@SunFern thanks for your kind words. We are all changing all the time. What I notice today may be invisible tomorrow but it all helps to progress from where we are.
