Nature and Mindfulness: Part 5

Hello amazing folks ! How are you? This will be our last part of Nature and Mindfulness series. Today we'll focus on Mindfulness Observation.

This exercise is simple but incredibly powerful because it helps you notice and appreciate seemingly simple elements of your environment in a more profound way.

The exercise is designed to connect us with the beauty of the natural environment, something that is easily missed when we are rushing around in the car or hopping on and off trains on the way to work.

1. Choose a natural object from within your immediate environment and focus on watching it for a minute or two. This could be a flower or an insect, or even the clouds or the moon.

2. Dont do anything except notice the thing you are looking at. Simply relax into watching for as long as your concentration allows.

3. Look at this object as if you are seeing it for the first time.

4. Visually explore every aspect of its formation, and allow yourself to be consumed by its presence.

5. Allow yourself to connect with its energy and its purpose within the natural world.

Now share with us:

a. Which natural object did you choose?

b. How did it feel doing this exercise?

I observed the big tree right in front of my room's window. It's calming to look at the tree, with its green leaves, yellow leaves, its height. It feels like autumn is approaching. For a moment, I forgot about little upsetting things in my daily life

I like this exercise! I chose to observe the clouds, and it was really relaxing to watch them go by. It made me feel calm and relaxed, and I think I'd like to try this out more when I next take a walk :) thanks for this check-in!

@SunFern

Hello I just got back from my family trip and got to do therapy there also :D I went to the beach and our room just is right in front of the beach.

a. Which natural object did you choose?

I choose the sky above us

b. How did it feel doing this exercise?

i enjoy the sky while the wind slowly blowing with the sound of the wave. It's really relaxing. I focus on the clouds and watching them slowly move aside and sometmes thinking about their shapes. It makes me relax as I just focus on the objects and mesmerized on them

I just have to say....I really enjoy your check-ins. I choose to watch a tree. I noticed how it swayed with the movement of the wind. How it sounded smooth and consistant. And the smell of the leaves and well jusy nature. It made me feel like rocking and calmsmiley
