Mindfulness Sharing From Rumple
I really wasn't sure where to post this in mindfulness are but I new my sharing would maybe help someone here
As many know I work for the State as a medical caregiver, and have a needy job with needy clients as well as a needy boss. Well this evening my boss got all over me cause we have another 24/7 client and he is needing more workers. So right away he got my feelings stepped on, my thoughts were all over and yes-I started to cry. I had to get myself together or my boss will think I need a break
So I thought of a mindfulness skill I could use any where any time of day or night besides breathing heavy into the phone with my boss(lol)
Room recognition!!! Yay go-go brain and refocus. I started to just sit comfortably in my computer chair, and look at things and be mindful what they where, how they were, what thy looked like, what the texture was..... all the time my boss is yacking and demanding on phone.
I noticed after a few minutes of doing this, my hand stopped gripping the phone, my back got more relaxed, and my tone of voice was even and calm. So well now I got another 14 hour shift on Thursday night
I share this cause most of the time our anxiety or focus or fear jump up right there in the moment. We need to find something that we can focus on to calm our insides and our thoughts. Once you have found a skill that works you will notice that your brain will right away go to that skill.
I dont know if this makes sense but Im glad I got to share this with whomever reads it and that it might help you
Take care everyone
@RumpleSteeleSkin glad you found a practical application for mindfulness. Good luck on your shift. That is long! Almost like doing two shifts in a row.
