How do you cope with extreme anger mindfully?

@Lexloveslife

do you have a favorite calming music which you can use when doing some inside exercises like weight lifting (just as an example)?

I have music that calms me but when I'm exercising, I tend slow down and get distracted by music. Even if it's fast-paced music, I slow down from my usual pace and start moving to the beat

Great question! We can also be present to the anger by labeling that we are feeling anger in the present moment. We can pay attention to our breath, heart rate, and any other physical sensations that may be occuring due to the extreme anger, such as sweaty palms or a headache even. We can also remind ourselves that while we feel anger, we are not angry people and do not have to act on the anger. Rather than acting on the anger, we can do something that helps us cool down, like listening to a guided meditation, listening to music, or any other hobby or interest :)

just wanted to post this because i had a lot of anger today towards a certain company i had to deal with, this is what i did

abt. 25 minutes meditation for anger (just for anger)

writing down the facts

sending them to the person in charge.

The meditation releases the anger to a certain extent, whilst writing down the facts allowed me to have space in my head for other things, practically not occupying brain space unnecessarily.

I breathe deeply, close my eyes, and imagine the anger leaving my body through my fingertips, my nostrils, my eyes...

That's just me. :)

How do you practice Mindfulness if you can not get your head in a calm state? It seems like I am beating a dead horse
