Why is it called 'Mindfulness'?
I often have this discussion. Why is mindfulness called mindfulness when really it is much more?
It could be mind fullness of mindfullness or mindness or even mind emptyness or even presentness?
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!" Shakespeare meaning that even if a rose was called something like dustbin it would still smell fragrant and sweet so really does a name matter?
But when I describe mindfulness to people I sometimes get the same glazed over eyes and a tsk that again kind of reaction.
So . . . what I wanted to bring up today is that the practice of mindfulness is great, who cares what it is called?
