Positive affirmations?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. But I've been trying to work on my self talk/self esteem. I've always been recommended to try positive affirmations, but it always feels wrong, almost cringey. I so dont believe the things I'll say that I feel like fraud. How do you combat that feeling?

@Icedya thank you for sharing here with this. It is very common to feel as you put it "a fraud" telling ourselves good things-positive things. But-wait..................

You are doing a great job just as you are doing. Keep up saying those positive things to yourself daily. As one day one of those affirmations are going to bust through to your heart and you will feel the truth.

@Icedya hello! when i first started to work with positive affirmations it felt weird as well, but that feelings goes away once you really believe what you are saying. When i started telling myself that i am confident in myself, i felt like i was doing something wrong too. But now I tell myself that i am confident in myself and i totally mean it, and it feels right saying that. As you are still new to the affirmations i believe, you could try writing them down first as i feel like writing is easier than really saying it out loud, for example writing 2 positive affirmations down every morning. Hope this was helpful!

The first several times are always hard and there is no one right way to give yourself positive affirmations! When I started, I affirmed things about on or around me, not about me... for example, this shirt looks good on me or this makeup makes my skin look good. From there, I slowly built up to, my skin looks good or I look good in this shirt. Itll come but it takes practice!
