Mindfulness and Depression
I occassionaly meditate. Are there stratergies to medidate twice a day? I do use insight timer app which helps me, but I miss many days, not often enough.
I went to first retreat in 2016 and have been to two 10 day retreats. Usually after a retreat, feel very good for 1-2 months, then it tapers off.
I do suffer from depression, I did have a therapist in 2015 (subsidised) who helped me a a lot. This was after tough circumstances for 8+ years. Then I moved and I havent been able to find help.
I think meditating regularly will help me. Appreciate feedback.

Hi there, welcome to our community! I am glad you have joined us :)
I am sorry to hear you suffer from depression, I know how difficult this is and I agree on the fact the meditation and mindfulness do help. There is a very interesting article here that offers practical tips for creating a meditation habit and stick to it. I hope it will help you.
As for therapy, have you considered a daily written therapy here at 7cups? I have been doing it for seven months, it has been life-changing. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hello there! Yes, meditation will help you but to really get the benefits, you have to consistently practice every day. You could try meditating right after you wake up and before you sleep at night. Start small like 3 mins until you can comfortably do 20 mins for each session.
To add on that, you could also try working out. From my experience, I've overcome depression through exercise. Give it a shot. You might feel unmotivated at first but just stick to it every single day.
To make things easier, here's a great app you can use to effectively build good habits. https://www.thefabulous.co/
I hope you get well soon!
