With seven cups being such a diverse place, we will always come across people with different life experiences, different faiths, different cultures, different sexualities, different upbringings, different values, different limes and dislikes, different ages, and everyone has a different style if communicating. So how do we ensure when we are all so different and live very different lives, that we are respectful, we listen, and we hold hard conversations especially when we don't agree? How do we maintain our own values whilst still fostering tolerance abs sensitivity? How do we respond when what someone is living is something we've never experienced or have no knowledge of?

Those are hard great questions! I'll have to think about and come back. I see us all as people first, then everything else after that. People mostly want the same few things, health love ect.

Well if we solve this we will know the answer to world peace!
I just think of the basics we all need. Needing to eat, families, health, shelter, ect same.feelings.
I feel like you guys are already doing most of this. You are the best forum I have run across for respect. I don't see any lack of respect so far. Great moderation maybe?

I think you guys do really good with modeling this. Keep as many people trained and doing it as possible? You have the pledge which is very helpful.
Maybe a section of reading on the subject? Some people would want to read it.

I think you guys do great valadating the feeling even if we do not know the particulars.
Asking questions of the person if we have never experienced it or dont have knowledge of it.
Or just say we don't have the experince but we want to help.

I am a old white lady living in Northern Michigan usa, I think there are people better suited to answer this than me out there. I just wanted to say something as.no one had answered.

Yes, that's what I mean, like to be able to be honest and open and share my viewpoints, whilst still respecting someone else might be polar opposite, instead of someone expecting you to conform to their way of thinking, or shutting down conversations without giving you a chance! It's be a healthier place if we could disagree and still wish each other a good day and mean it 🥰

@Amanda84 usually here is easier to being more tolerant due to the loving and nurturing place that 7cups which creates a very good place for inner growth. So the first part comes from fear of the unknown, we are used to living life in a way that is familiar and comfortable to us, customs, religion, believes, morals, ways of thinking, culture, etc. Though from here we get a glimpse of other people`s lives, which can be good for learning new things. Yet its much easier to have the time and see things in written form that sometimes it is for instance in a big city, were there is a lot of mix of cultures and things that can clash from one way of living to another way of living. take care :)
