I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

Things are usually much harder then we think. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

Hello everyone.

I'm sorry I'm not able to respond as much as I usually do.

I've been working super long hours and most of the time, I'm dog tired and brain dead. 😵. As I go through these trying times, I will keep this thread going but may not be able to respond when needed. I'm asking a favor for others to understand and  Please try to support others as your time and mood allows.

Thank you

Please keep writing and posting if it helps.. I do get in here to read them a little bit, so if it matters, you are being heard and thought of. 💗.

I always try to encourage everyone writing in this thread to interact with other threadsters and feel free to show encouragement and support with each other, whenever possible.

The sweetest of all sounds is praise.” Xenophon

I guess my goal this week is the same as last week. Get caught up with work (still need to do the mandatory training) and not fall behind in school. Never heard back from the coach on the class but I got an email reminding me to set the dates for the assignment in the new class. Guess the previous one is a lost cause. I just did the end of course survey for it and put my grievences in the comments section.

Um, I guess that's it. I wasted too much time doing the survey and I need to get back to work. Have things that need to be completed and I have to start the labs for the new course.

@Enthenia I hope you get caught up with work and get the mandatory training done. You're starting a new class? I'm sorry I missed last week. Did something happen with your last class? What do the labs consist of in this class? How is that diatomaceous earth working on the bug problem?

@mytwistedsoul well the new course is using a lab platform that I've only used once before but it's more user friendly and doesn't have the connection problems that the other one has. It's quite difficult to type commands into a virtual machine when parts of the command get dropped due to connection problems. The only thing that I'm going to have some difficulty with in this new class is the peer-reviewed articles. I've never had to do that before.

I did receive an email from the academic coach--after I sent out the survey. I can  retake the course. I can also reuse the papers I previously submitted. I just have to let them know I am reusing the papers and whether or not I made changes. At least that will give me a chance to fix the formatting since that was the main issue. Hopefully I can get it the way the professor wants it.

The powder is working although I've had to reapply it in some spots. I also found some professional-grade tubes that I'd purchased and put spots of the substance up around the kitchen area and around the smoke detector. That went off at 4:30 on Sunday because of bugs. The dog was not happy. She got to play with a pug friend this morning though and she was extremely happy. We don't usually see many dogs so early in the morning. Well, we sometimes see the ones she doesn't like or is afraid of....

@Enthenia Oh gosh yeah that wouldn't be any good at all. Oh peer reviewed articles sound a little scary. But it's probably a good thing to get feed back from others aside from the professor

I'm glad you can retake the course. That has to be frustrating though to have done all that work and have the formatting wrong. I hope everything works out ok with that

I guess if you have to reapply it that means they're getting into it? Oh man that wouldn't make me happy either with the smoke alarm going off. The doggone things are into everything! Aww I'm glad she got to play with her friend! 😊

@mytwistedsoul well I'm actually not seeing them in as many places so I guess that's good. They're more concentrated around the kitchen though which makes sense since that's where the food is.

I have to get onto the college's site and see what I need to do. I also have to get back in the lab so I can finish it. Right now I'm trying to finish what I have to do for work. It's not hard but tedious. Change my display settings because everyone else can keep it on the normal display settings (I have to use high contrast. The normal way makes my head hurt), pull information, format it in a spreadsheet, write a dissertation on why the activity does not appear suspicous, put everything in folders, do background checks if I need to....

I'm doing like six things at the same time per usual. Also I didn't get much sleep but I think that's normal too.

@Enthenia That's probably a really good sign! Hopefully after a month or two you won't see any of them. That was a really good idea with that diatomaceous earth. You gave me the idea to try it in the spring when the ants are first starting to show up.

Ugh that does sound tedious. Hopefully you got all that done for work. I have to admit it sounds like a pain in the butt! You usually are doing a bunch of things all at one time. Work, school, dog and all the little things that are a part of daily life. Sometimes it seems that there's not enough hours in the day.
Sleep is definitely important. There's probably a lot of your mind too with school and redoing that course, plus work stuff. I know that can effect how well sleep is

@mytwistedsoul I don't  remember the last time I had proper sleep. Had to argue with the cat this morning. She kept wanting to go out again but we're in the middle of another extreme heat warning. I wasn't going to have her outside while I was at work. She's small and too old to be out without water. Had to watch her while I left to make sure she didn't slip out. The dog would have thrown a fit if that had happened. She does not like being left alone.

Work is in a category by itself. Yesterday they had a presentation for efforts people put in on a project that was nearly three months ago. To me, that's a backhanded compliment. Like: "We appreciate your efforts but we were too busy at the time to properly thank you so we decided to wait two months until we weren't busy." Proper recognition should happen close to the time of the event, not two months later. But that's how they do things. I get in trouble for transposed digits on a date six months later. That hasn't happened in a while but that give you an idea of how things are run (If you didn't already have an idea). The project management class I had does recommend post-project celebrations but in a timely manner.

On schooling, I need to finish the lab I started once I complete my last work assignment. Then I need to look at what I need to do to retake the course. I'm also dealing with  finances, health and diet, and the games. The games are the least of my worries. If I can get to certain levels on some of them, the finances won't be as big of a worry. But it takes like five extra steps to get to the level I need to be at. It's a little like work, really.

I'm going to go back to the lab in a few minutes. I looked at some offers a finance app I have had and I decided to try. One I used back in 2021 but it won't let me do a new application. The second one denied me so I'm getting the information for the third.  I didn't want to borrow any more but I'm behind in a payment and if I can get some of the high-interest accounts paid down/off, it won't be as bad.

Got $16 on one of the gaming accounts and I cashed out some of the point on a data sharing app I have to get a $10 gift card. I can cash out the $16 and be able to cover part of my monthly orders. Got almost $50 on another gaming account and I'm hoping to get a little more because I'm going to need a bus pass soon and I literally have no money.

Okay! Here's my little lineup for this week!

  • Submit an application to a fellowship I've been eyeballing for a couple of months now.
  • Workout 2-3 times this week.
  • Work ahead in two of my classes (by 1-2 modules).
  • Don't forget to attend two local workshops this week.
  • Attend a local event for fun and giggles.

Good luck to everyone else and making progress on their goals! We got this! Fighting! 💖
