2025 Week #34 Weekly Goal Sharing! (Monday 08/18/25 - Sunday 08/24/25)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

Hello everyone.
I'm sorry I'm not able to respond as much as I usually do.
I've been working super long hours and most of the time, I'm dog tired and brain dead. 😵. As I go through these trying times, I will keep this thread going but may not be able to respond when needed. I'm asking a favor for others to understand and Please try to support others as your time and mood allows.
Thank you
Please keep writing and posting if it helps.. I do get in here to read them a little bit, so if it matters, you are being heard and thought of. 💗.
I always try to encourage everyone writing in this thread to interact with other threadsters and feel free to show encouragement and support with each other, whenever possible.

I guess my goal this week is the same as last week. Get caught up with work (still need to do the mandatory training) and not fall behind in school. Never heard back from the coach on the class but I got an email reminding me to set the dates for the assignment in the new class. Guess the previous one is a lost cause. I just did the end of course survey for it and put my grievences in the comments section.
Um, I guess that's it. I wasted too much time doing the survey and I need to get back to work. Have things that need to be completed and I have to start the labs for the new course.
@Enthenia I hope you get caught up with work and get the mandatory training done. You're starting a new class? I'm sorry I missed last week. Did something happen with your last class? What do the labs consist of in this class? How is that diatomaceous earth working on the bug problem?
@mytwistedsoul well the new course is using a lab platform that I've only used once before but it's more user friendly and doesn't have the connection problems that the other one has. It's quite difficult to type commands into a virtual machine when parts of the command get dropped due to connection problems. The only thing that I'm going to have some difficulty with in this new class is the peer-reviewed articles. I've never had to do that before.
I did receive an email from the academic coach--after I sent out the survey. I can retake the course. I can also reuse the papers I previously submitted. I just have to let them know I am reusing the papers and whether or not I made changes. At least that will give me a chance to fix the formatting since that was the main issue. Hopefully I can get it the way the professor wants it.
The powder is working although I've had to reapply it in some spots. I also found some professional-grade tubes that I'd purchased and put spots of the substance up around the kitchen area and around the smoke detector. That went off at 4:30 on Sunday because of bugs. The dog was not happy. She got to play with a pug friend this morning though and she was extremely happy. We don't usually see many dogs so early in the morning. Well, we sometimes see the ones she doesn't like or is afraid of....
@Enthenia Oh gosh yeah that wouldn't be any good at all. Oh peer reviewed articles sound a little scary. But it's probably a good thing to get feed back from others aside from the professor
@mytwistedsoul well I'm actually not seeing them in as many places so I guess that's good. They're more concentrated around the kitchen though which makes sense since that's where the food is.
I have to get onto the college's site and see what I need to do. I also have to get back in the lab so I can finish it. Right now I'm trying to finish what I have to do for work. It's not hard but tedious. Change my display settings because everyone else can keep it on the normal display settings (I have to use high contrast. The normal way makes my head hurt), pull information, format it in a spreadsheet, write a dissertation on why the activity does not appear suspicous, put everything in folders, do background checks if I need to....
I'm doing like six things at the same time per usual. Also I didn't get much sleep but I think that's normal too.
@Enthenia That's probably a really good sign! Hopefully after a month or two you won't see any of them. That was a really good idea with that diatomaceous earth. You gave me the idea to try it in the spring when the ants are first starting to show up.
@mytwistedsoul I don't remember the last time I had proper sleep. Had to argue with the cat this morning. She kept wanting to go out again but we're in the middle of another extreme heat warning. I wasn't going to have her outside while I was at work. She's small and too old to be out without water. Had to watch her while I left to make sure she didn't slip out. The dog would have thrown a fit if that had happened. She does not like being left alone.
Work is in a category by itself. Yesterday they had a presentation for efforts people put in on a project that was nearly three months ago. To me, that's a backhanded compliment. Like: "We appreciate your efforts but we were too busy at the time to properly thank you so we decided to wait two months until we weren't busy." Proper recognition should happen close to the time of the event, not two months later. But that's how they do things. I get in trouble for transposed digits on a date six months later. That hasn't happened in a while but that give you an idea of how things are run (If you didn't already have an idea). The project management class I had does recommend post-project celebrations but in a timely manner.
On schooling, I need to finish the lab I started once I complete my last work assignment. Then I need to look at what I need to do to retake the course. I'm also dealing with finances, health and diet, and the games. The games are the least of my worries. If I can get to certain levels on some of them, the finances won't be as big of a worry. But it takes like five extra steps to get to the level I need to be at. It's a little like work, really.
I'm going to go back to the lab in a few minutes. I looked at some offers a finance app I have had and I decided to try. One I used back in 2021 but it won't let me do a new application. The second one denied me so I'm getting the information for the third. I didn't want to borrow any more but I'm behind in a payment and if I can get some of the high-interest accounts paid down/off, it won't be as bad.
Got $16 on one of the gaming accounts and I cashed out some of the point on a data sharing app I have to get a $10 gift card. I can cash out the $16 and be able to cover part of my monthly orders. Got almost $50 on another gaming account and I'm hoping to get a little more because I'm going to need a bus pass soon and I literally have no money.
@Enthenia I have to admit I chuckled at the thought of you arguing with the cat. You're totally right though. If there's a excessive heat warning she shouldn't be out there, even if she was younger. It's too much for them. I love that you're such an awesome pet owner!
@mytwistedsoul not especially. $65 for a month and $34 for fifteen days. I remember when it used to be $35 for a month. I think I can get by with the fifteen day pass. That will leave me with two days not covered but by then I should have the funds. No call from the account I'm past due on. Hoping I have some info on the application I did. I gave them proof of residency and income but I had to wait until I got home to upload my ID. It's not like I'm excessively behind; only a week and a half.
Sent a message to my brother to see if he can help with the cat food. I opened the last can for her today. Tried giving her some cooked chicken in broth last night and she turned her nose up at it. I've used the cans of tuna I had saved for such a purpose. I don't think she's going to wait until next week the the funds are supposed to arrive. I don't have much in the way of groceries myself but with the gift cards I had for the store that shares the name of a South American river, I should be able to get a couple of items from my monthly order. Not good for me to go without food but I don't have much of a choice.
Not like I plan these things to happen.
Um, I'm doing one of my mandatory training sessions and later I'll go back to the lab for the class. I'm 40% done I think. Sent an email to the coach about the class I need to redo. It gave me a message about the lack of engagement but there's nothing I can click on. I can't change the dates, I can't resubmit and all the activities and quizzes, I've done already. I think I'm in limbo with that class.
This morning the cat didn't insist on going out but she was out for pretty much the entire night last night so I think she got the wanderlust out of her. At least for now.
@Enthenia Wow that still seems so expensive. They should make public transit cheaper for people!
@mytwistedsoul well it's still cheaper than the Uber or even cabs. I had to do a cab when I had jury duty and the bus was running late. I got to the courthouse like five minutes late but it was still earlier than if I had waited for the bus. It was $80 I think.
I would do food pantries if it wasn't so hard with the diet. They brought in lunch for work. For that project that happened two and a half months ago. It was pizza like I thought. I tried one piece that had chicken, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Was screwed up for the rest of the day.
I don't know, it all just gets so frustrating. Thankfully, my mom was able to send money for cat food. Got some meat and salad. Spent $17. I have to get that to stretch until I get a decision on the application. I had to answer identity questions and one thing I was worried about. One of the questions listed addresses and I was supposed to say if I had been at one of them before. One I recognized the street name. It was the college I went to back in 2001 but I don't remember the exact number. I don't know if that will affect the application or not. I asked the person I was speaking to and he wasn't sure.
Um, I am 60% done on the lab for the new course. I will need to start looking for peer-reviewed articles next week so I don't get an email about lack of engagement.
The mandatory training is ongoing. It's like every ninety days. We just have to watch videos that they assign us. I don't. I let it play in the background and read the transcript. I usually can read faster than they talk and they ramble in these videos.
Have to get back to playing with the dog. She's waiting with her toy somewhere.
@Enthenia
Hey Enthenia, I know life would be so much easier if financial stress wasn't such a big issue.
I wish there was a magic wand so that you can do everything that you have the power to do without having to worry about financial obligations. You are a powerful person.
Just keep trying to go in the right direction, believe in yourself. You are awesome! 💗.
I know platitudes like that probably don't help too much, but me thinking that you are amazing is not a platitude. You are a strong soul and I am glad that you share that here.
@Enthenia Oh definitely! Alot cheaper that a car, insurance, gas and parking too! Omg! 80 bucks for jury duty! That's ridiculous! Can you use the pass multiple times a day? (that's probably a stupid question)
@mytwistedsoul she did. And I played with her again.
The engagement used to be easier to achieve. Reading items on the reading list used to count. It doesn't anymore. I got an email today about lack of engagement. The system really doesn't have a lot of ways to record that you're actually doing something in the course. Like I got almost all the lab done today but I had to send the professor an email. The second part of the lab wouldn't get me the results the lab showed. I had to sign up for a trial account on a platform and then I followed the instructions but when I tried to execute the searches, I would get an error stating that my current plan didn't allow me to initiate the searches.
The third part of the lab is some writing. I can finish that tomorrow and I can hopefully read some of the articles I'm supposed to read. If I can get everything done by the end of the week, I'll be fine. And that's on top of everything else.
Okay! Here's my little lineup for this week!
- Submit an application to a fellowship I've been eyeballing for a couple of months now.
- Workout 2-3 times this week.
- Work ahead in two of my classes (by 1-2 modules).
- Don't forget to attend two local workshops this week.
- Attend a local event for fun and giggles.
Good luck to everyone else and making progress on their goals! We got this! Fighting! 💖
