2026 Week #11 - Disciplinary Accountability for Success (Monday 03/09/26 - Sunday 03/15/26)
Disciplinary Accountability for Success says it all. I have all that I need to be successful, Except for enough discipline. Without the discipline, much of my time and many of my days are wasted.
I want to be successful in Four Large aspects of my life, for 2026 & onward.
(1) Financial security. (I'm self employed).
(2) Family involvement. (I've been estranged for too many years).
(3) Reduce weight, a little, each week, consistently, for 1 year (I'm currenty 6'2" @ 290lbs - age 60+).
(4) Self-Care. (Health, Cleanliness, Order, Faith, Generosity & Socializing).
This thread is an effort to force discipline onto my actions by admitting my accountability. It is a personal journey of hard improvements for the year of 2026.
Feel free to join in with your own story. I wholly believe in supporting each other for strength, understanding and camaraderie.
The last week that I posted in this series was week #5, end of January. This is Week #11 in the middle of March and the winter has been one heck of a winter, but now passed.
Not able to work outdoors with equipment, Left me unemployed and inactive for about 8 weeks. Now that the weather's fading and spring is starting to warm up things, schedule is getting crazy.
I'm doing well so there's not a lot of need for support or comment but feel free to give either one if you want. They are always welcome and appreciated.
I find myself in a super crazy space today and I just came to this thread, To help me organize my way through the week. Of course starting from right now, Today.
The Good thing is that employment has been very good and I've secured a little financial security for a few weeks. That's a huge deal and I am very happy for it. But in doing so other things have been left by the wayside. Keep the employment going also, there's other obligations to follow up on. With general repairs maintenance, customer correspondence house work, house maintenance, aarrrrggggh.
I'm going to do two things right now. Repair my septic system, A fairly quick fix. And then start cleaning the kitchen or washing the dishes. But the most important thing I gotta do, is call the insurance company today, which I'm dreading. Of course they raised my prices and I'm going to try to talk them down.
Septic was a lose-lose..... regroup for another day
Start the dishes and then make the insurance phone call.
OMG, The kitchen is such a disatster!
There has been a kaleidoscope kind of day. I started off the morning early bringing my dog to the vet. Then I made contact with friends and clients that was a bit overdue. But the Correspondence lined up other things for the Near future. And then some of them i'm waiting for a reply.
I have three work that I'm trying to navigate with different people and then I also some mechanical repairs then I have to navigate with the repair shop and some of this has to be done for tomorrow.
We just came back from picking my dog up from the vet and luckily he just a tick borne disease which is making his joints real bad. I thought he had bone problems and he couldn't walk. Just some medication And time we'll fix em up pretty good. So that was good news. Anyway I got him back home and I'm about halfway done with the dishes.
I decided to wait For about 4 more days before I talked to insurance because then I'll be able to pay for it after I talked to them. It wouldn't be convenient for me to pay today and if they decide to give me a deal I want to have cash on hand and say here you go! So I don't have to do that this evening, but I have plenty of things to take its place.
Right now I'm just going to go finish the dishes.
The backed up chores leave no reprieve, without regrettable consequenses. But the regret, lessens as the house gets in order. The dishes are 100% done.
I'm tired, but reminded of a quote, "Don't Quit, when you're tired, Quit, when you're done". I'll never get done with everything this evening, but I can get some more done, beyond my tiredness.
Start a load of laundry and sort the kitchen table.
And I end the evening, feeling accomplished.
It was kind of a hard row to h*o*e, But I think I did well balancing personal with work tasks for the day.
