2026 Week #5 - Disciplinary Accountability for Success (Monday 01/26/26 - Sunday 02/01/26)
Disciplinary Accountability for Success says it all. I have all that I need to be successful, Except for enough discipline. Without the discipline, much of my time and many of my days are wasted.
I want to be successful in Four Large aspects of my life, for 2026 & onward.
(1) Financial security. (I'm self employed).
(2) Family involvement. (I've been estranged for too many years).
(3) Reduce weight, a little, each week, consistently, for 1 year (I'm currenty 6'2" @ 290lbs - age 60+).
(4) Self-Care. (Health, Cleanliness, Order, Faith, Generosity & Socializing).
This thread is an effort to force discipline onto my actions by admitting my accountability. It is a personal journey of hard improvements for the year of 2026.
Feel free to join in with your own story. I wholly believe in supporting each other for strength, understanding and camaraderie.
If I am going to succeed, I need a world more of self governance and discipline. It is that simple. There are no two ways around it. It s*cks, I don't know if I can do it. But that's what I need to do.

Hello I will join in. For the new year I’m going make this count. I want to take accountability and own up to my mistakes, and sincerely apologize for my action's and problems I’ve caused not only to myself… but to my family. From the beginning of last year I’ve had worse than bad judgment and decisions. I cheated, and I’ve lied a lot, to my family and to the only woman that showed care and love for me. I can’t explain how much I regret every decision that caused trauma or pain to the people I love. I’ve made some of the worst judgment call's without the means to communicate my problems beforehand. I will admit love can be difficult, especially when you’ve never truly experienced love without pain. But still that’s no excuse to treat the people that care , and have shown no reason to be untrustworthy like the way I’ve treated my family.
This year is going to be the year I get it together, get back on track even more than before, and make not only my family…. but myself proud of who I am… and will continue to be. My goals for the new year are to work harder than I ever have to get where I want us to be. No more excuses, no more lies, no more distractions, no more drugs, no more deceit and better communication overall. This year and moving forward I’m going to be the man I know I can be. No excuses. My family deserves to know our home is a safe space without judgement, fear of being different, and a place where all feelings are valid and can be expressed. This is my year. I will not put it to waste. I will achieve my dreams. I will get healthy. No matter what.

It takes a lot of courage to share your vulnerabilities and faults like that. That's the most important step and sme say say the hardest.
I agree with it being the most important first step. So I think its awesome that you put it out there, said it out loud, You're owning it. That's fantastic.
I got some experience in the long road of healing, that you're choosing, but it's a good road. It can be a lonely road so be sure to come here and talk about it as much as you can. In the beginning it's hard to get support from those we love. But as we improve our lives it gets easier to reach out to those that we love.
It's hard in the beginning, but we're here to support and encourage you to stay the course.
