2 Hour Challenges for the day. 10/30/;22
Sometimes it helps me to commit and be accountable for my goals. Whether they be large or small, often they seem mundane and lackluster. But they are important to move forward.
In an ideal world, we are capable of accomplishing things for our own satisfaction and sense of accomplishment. In a less ideal world, there seems to be little reason. And with no commitment or accountability we could lose our reasons for moving forward and trying.
As a child playing at the basketball court by myself, I would often imagine people were secretly watching me from the thick shrubs that seperated the court from city street and sidewalk. As corny as that sounds; I was a champion then; with crazy long shots and layups. Rebounds and speed dribbling..... All the things I could never really do very good.
It helps to be seen. Join me with your own 2 hour goals for the day!
My first 2 hour goals:
5:45am - 7:00am: Morning tasks
7:00am - 7:45am: Change and wash bedding - Clear and clean off kitchen table
I didn't kick butt.... but my first 2 hour challenge got finished at 10:45am. 3 hours later than planned.
3 hours late but Finished is better than nothing.
Next task.... no time frame.... Wash Tractor and Work Outdoors.
Those tasks are DONE!
My Second 2 Hour Challenge:
1:00pm - 1:45pm: Put away tools and close up the shop.
1:45pm - 3:00pm: Fold and put away laundry
It is 3:07pm and I have not started folding the laundry yet. I got my tools kind of put away. Safe and dry but not completely sorted and organized. They are as done as they are going to get.
Gotta rest for a bit and then do the laundry.
8:15PM: I'm done!
And so.... I failed at every 2 hour challenge, but I tried and I completed....
1) Entire laundry.
2) Entire kitchen.
3) Complete tractor maintenance & loaded for delivery.
4) Sorted house.
5) Portioned and Packaged meats for freezer.
Completeing small tasks and goals are things to be proud of.
Even in the midst of failures.
