Beyond Milestones: Celebrating small wins

Hi everyone! We often get caught up in the pursuit of monumental goals, overlooking the daily victories that pave the path. So, let's take a moment to celebrate the small wins.

Did you finally write that first paragraph after staring at a blank page for hours? Nailed that tricky spreadsheet formula you've been avoiding? Perhaps you simply stuck to your morning exercise routine despite a busy schedule.

These mini-triumphs, though small, hold immense power. Sharing them reminds us that progress, no matter how gradual, is worth celebrating. It fosters a sense of community, where each victory, big or small, inspires and motivates others.

So, let's break free from the pressure of grand outcomes and embrace the joy of everyday achievements. Tell us your micro wins: the early morning jog, the conquered recipe, the perfectly balanced budget.

Hi!! 👋

Today in my maths class, I finally escaped my fears of being seen as 'dumb', and I realised that there is no harm in asking questions in school (no matter how stupid).

I asked my teacher how to solve a basic question. She then loudly asked the class if anyone else needed helping on the question.

Even after nobody else got up with me (making me look like the dumbest kid in class), I still stood.

(Extra anxiety points: this was an additional maths class, meaning the math class of smart kids 😬)

But I didn't need to worry, as after I walked to the front of the class, lots of other kids followed and crowded around the whiteboard! (Yay I wasn't the only kid who wasn't sure how to solve the question!)

Additional win: after class I finally mustered up the courage to ask my math teacher about a math concept I was struggling on for at least a year!

Might be a small win (asking my teacher a question), but a big win for me ❤️

I've been there and it is hard and takes a lot of courage to do so. excited-happy.gif

After rewriting and rewriting and rewriting, I wrote three chapters of this book I'm working on and I absolutely love it. The pacing, the tone, the characters, I read it over and I am actually proud of myself. The difference between how I used to write and how I write now is amazing. To see how much I've improved made me feel very good.

I kind of put a Hypo-Manic episode to work.

I bought a new set of pots and pans. They only made my old kitchen seem grubby. It's a nice place but some of it was impossible to get clean.

I spent 3 days stripping, sanding, staining and 4 coats of varnish then wax on my kitchen cabinets.
Then I prepared the kitchen walls for painting by sanding the plaster smooth with an electric sander.
My landlord is going to come in next week to paint and replace the grubby tile floors. I have a good landlord, but I wanted to make their job easier to make the paint nicer.

No way would the landlord let one of their guys spend 3 days doing fine craftsmanship to make the cabinets OCD perfect.
But Gosh... my arms are sore.
