Stepping out of Your Comfort Zone
On Sunday, we had an awesome discussion on stepping out of our comfort zones.
To follow on from that, I wanted to ask what people have
done this week to make that big step.
What did you do?
How did it go?
How do you feel about it?

awww, I missed that chat that we apparently had today ....dang it, because that is literally the theme for me right now because I am stuck and the only way to move forward is to get out of my comfot zone - and I have so many opportunities to do so.
So, I just thought I would keep myself accountable to this my writing my post here,
Ways I am GOING to step out of my comfort zone and move forward!
( in no order)
1. get out of the house more
2. be present in social interactions so I can fully express myself
3. Take my friend up on the reiki interminten jobs at the confrences
4. TEXT/CALL my friend to let her know I am going to take her up on her offer
5. Get a job...a job just A job , to have income, WHILE I am setting up my new career....no more lazy unpaid months!
6. Let my friends know more about me
7. Even though I feel ashamed of my body right now, small steps to feel better in it...things I would not allow myself to do before like:
- wear jewlery ( necklaces and rings)
- wear my hair down if I want to - no matter if people say my hair up looks better
- paint my nails
- paint my toes
8. rip off all the old posters and art collages that sum up my life on my bedroom wall and start over- new pallet for me to create and express my life story written by me
9. Write another peice for the magazine and get that published
20. keep track of my published articles and be proud of them.
21. Stop keeping my photography talent a secret - somehow get that out - paid or unpaid - for others to see.
22. advertise my essential oil blends *that I was doing great with but gave up on in the past*
23. Advertise my tarot card readings and get clients
14. Gain clientel for my reiki buisness.
15. No longer allow my familym especially my aunt - to dictate my mood and be able to crush my mood with a comment - only I have the power to do that - I will no longer give that away, it is far too precious.
okay, yeah - I think I shall start with these 15 and see where I go from there :)
@blissedNblessed
That sounds great. I hope it all goes well for you. Keep me updated.
@brilliantTurtle89
Thanks!
I will :)
Stepping out of Your Comfort Zone
On Sunday, we had an awesome discussion on stepping out of our comfort zones.
To follow on from that, I wanted to ask what people have
done this week to make that big step.
What did you do? I'm writing a genre that I do NOT normally write in and I am discovering things about myself.
How did it go? I normally write horror, currently my muses have me writing romance while I'm single which makes feel a lot of things like lonely, but in reality I'm happy with me.
How do you feel about it? I feel sometimes my feelings may be there but I don't have to act on them.
I also notice the more I say I'm working on me and NOT looking for a relationship, the more guys keep trying to hit on me. However when I say I'm "lonely" and want a relationship, they avoid me like the plague. Weird part, I'm still the same person lonely or not.
After dreaming about it for years, I have successfully switched from almost a pot of coffee a day to one or two green teas and decaf coffee in the last two weeks.
Update on my 15 things to do in order to get out of my comfort zone - geesh - 15 :P
1. get out of the house more - seeing as how i am broke right now, i have not done this.
2. be present in social interactions so I can fully express myself - i am doing this and work on it every day so it becomes easier and more natural!
3. Take my friend up on the reiki interminten jobs at the confrences - i just made that call today! and text! I didn't do it earlier because I was super sick for almost the entire month of January!
4. TEXT/CALL my friend to let her know I am going to take her up on her offer - done
5. Get a job...a job just A job , to have income, WHILE I am setting up my new career....no more lazy unpaid months! - Hahahhaha, I am closer now! I got rid of the job that does not fit me and i do not want. . . now to get the ne that brings me joy ( and money).
6. Let my friends know more about me - I have been working on this daily and I found, that while doing so - I have succeeded in boundaries AND being more social and less isolative.. . and more authentic!
7. Even though I feel ashamed of my body right now, small steps to feel better in it...things I would not allow myself to do before like:
- wear jewlery ( necklaces and rings) - not yet
- wear my hair down if I want to - no matter if people say my hair up looks better - no guts for that yet ...hahaha
- paint my nails - almost did that
- paint my toes - nu uh
8. rip off all the old posters and art collages that sum up my life on my bedroom wall and start over- new pallet for me to create and express my life story written by me - YES, I DID THIS AND IT LOOKS GREAT AND I FEEL SO HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE BEING IN MY ROOM NOW AND IT FITS WHO I AM NOW. I LOVE IT! MADE SUCH A DIFFERENCE. AND I FEEL SO MUCH MORE FREE.
9. Write another peice for the magazine and get that published - HMMM, NOT YET - BUT I WILL!
20. keep track of my published articles and be proud of them. - I totally forgot about that one!
21. Stop keeping my photography talent a secret - somehow get that out - paid or unpaid - for others to see... I am more vocal about it and share it when asked and started posting it more on social media...it's a start.
22. advertise my essential oil blends *that I was doing great with but gave up on in the past* - hahah, nope, with being sick last month so much - no time to do that...and now - the job hunt comes first.
23. Advertise my tarot card readings and get clients ...so funny that am reading this now because no, i didnt do that but right after cups, i have to do a reading for my aunt's birthday.
14. Gain clientel for my reiki buisness...working on it - always!
15. No longer allow my familym especially my aunt - to dictate my mood and be able to crush my mood with a comment - only I have the power to do that - I will no longer give that away, it is far too precious. OMG OMG OMG OMG - I ACTUALLY ACOMPLISHED THIS. I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD. ANOTHER STEP TO FREEDOM, AUTHENTICITY AND STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE. I THINK THIS , HOWEVER, IS A DAILY THING - ONGOING - LIKE, USING THE MUSCLE SO I DONT LOSE IT.
SO...PRETTY GOOD SO FAR, YAY ME.
@blissedNblessed
Sounds like you are doing great❤️
@brilliantTurtle89
Thanks, was REALLY HARD at first, but each day I feel closer to the real me that I have hid myself from in order to fit in or live up to some ohter's expectations - or - even been drownd out from self critical voices.
It is getting easier and easier.
still a work in progress though :P
@blissedNblessed
Proud of you. You are truly doing great.
@brilliantTurtle89
thanks, that means a lot coming from you - esppecially since you have seen me in my dark valleys and what I had to bring myself out of in order to get to where I am now.
<3 thank you <3
