Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #36 (Monday 9/04/23 - Sunday 9/10/23)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.
Goals update:
My storm door handle doesn't fit the door. According to the packaging it should. Whatever...moving on....lol
I'll hit my exercising goals this week....I may get 4 day in, not just the 3 I had scheduled. Here's hoping....
We had a terrible storm last night. Maybe the torrential blowing rains did a fine job of cleaning my car...I'll see when the sun comes up...hahaha If not, I'll most likely get that done later today, if the rains hold out. Calling for more bad thunder storms this afternoon.....
I hope everyone else is accomplishing what they hoped.....Have a great weekend folks
@CyclingThroughLife
Moving on? leaving as is or try again later.... hmmmm?😏
@IsayUncle
Moving on as in I'm annoyed with it right now so I'm going to leave it as it is and try to find one that fits at my leisure.......
@CyclingThroughLife
Yesterday I made a light hearted comment about the door handle and moving on. I didn't know if moving on meant trying to finish it or not worry about it.
In reality, "I'm really sorry it didn't work out for you there". It's very frustrating to plan on doing something but something beyond our control stops us from getting it done. I've been in the home improvement business most of my adult life. I don't know how expensive your storm door is but I know on the less expensive doors, sometimes just re-drilling new holes for the screw collars on the new handle works pretty good. (just saying... maybe?)... Anyway, bummer you didn't get that done yet.
Great job when you're exercising goals. That is so awesome! That stuff is not easy to keep up with, even when you do like it!
A curious question, and you could just say "private" if you want, I'd totally understand. How many kids do you have and do you see them often? I just have four dogs, easy squeezy haha.
I salvaged this week pretty good after fixing my backhoe. I got a good start back into the lot that I was clearing. I also managed to do a couple of household tasks and cleaned up some school paperwork. Not really a big successful week but got enough done to be hopeful for this weekend instead of getting discouraged.
I hope you have a great weekend too. Stay spirited.😀
@IsayUncle
I typed out this big reply to this post but keep getting the "064" error code when I attempt to post it. I'm not sure what is preventing it....I will try to find a way reply to your post when I get more time....I'm off for a spin bike class in a few minutes......
Have a great day and an awesome weekend....
I managed to get my full reply in as 4 different posts.....I'm wondering if it was just too long to begin with because I didn't change anything about it except split it up....anyway....I'm NOW off to my spin class...I'm not accomplishing anything today because I'm going to a craft fair/food festival with my girlfriend this afternoon....its about an hour drive so we will make a day of it.....have a great weekend and I hope you can continue to be as productive as you want to be....
@CyclingThroughLife
Just a quick minute here. I hate that code 64. I developed my own method for troubleshooting. I opened some junk thread and use Word document and copy and paste sections of my post into the junk thread until I get the code 64 and then I know what section it is and I look for some stupid word or something in that paragraph or sentence.
I know you said you posted the exact same thing in sections and it worked so I don't know about that part of it. It doesn't look like anything that you wrote would have been considered way too long of a post or anything but who knows? I don't know.
You got a big family, geez Louise.
@IsayUncle
Lets try this paragraph by paragraph and see how it goes....
The door handle fits the holes, but for some reason the door is wider than the screws so they don't go all the way through.....simple answer is get longer screws....what frustrates me is that the Home Depot is a 25 min drive depending on traffic. So I'm looking at least an hour just to get a couple of screws that fit the width of the door and the diameter to fit the handle hardware. So...."moving on" until the handle is completely out of service or I have another reason to drive to the Home Depot....But either way, I need it done before the snow flies so sometime in mid to late October is my deadline.....Walmart is only 8 min away, but I'm not even going to try to look for them there lol.....
@IsayUncle
Like you say, exercising and working out is hard to keep up with even you do like it....and I love it and its a terrible thorn in my side to keep going on some days....Motivation isn't always the answer....some days I do and just go through the motions, but I'm doing it.....Some days I have to force myself to do it....I have found that I have to do it, more for my mental and emotional health than my physical health....I am hard on myself in a lot of areas in my life....my fitness is the worst....If I don't workout or miss one for whatever reason, I feel like I'm lazy, giving up, etc....you get the idea....Thanks for the support in my fitness journey.
@CyclingThroughLife
When the newness, excitement, motivation, all begin to slip away we should have a passion to keep us going and sometimes when we question our passion and it is weak all we have is our perseverance, diligence, and disciplines.
I think our disciplines keep our passions alive and vice versa. I tend to lack in the discipline department but I do make up for it in the perseverance department.
Stay Disciplined, Stay Strong! 💪
@IsayUncle
My kids....I have 2 boys from my first failed marriage that live in another state, 12 hour drive away, near their mother. We were both young(in our early 20s) when we got married, while in the military.....I have 4 Grandchildren under 5 years of age from those two....I see them in person about 2 times a year but with technology, Its regular. When they were young and growing up, the technology wasn't there so it was harder. I have 2 step daughters and one son that I had with my second wife. She passed from cancer in 2015. The girls were 12 and 17 and our son was 6. The older step daughter lives in the next town over, the 21 year old step and our son still live with me.
@CyclingThroughLife
That's cool then you can stay in touch with technology these days. It's too bad they live so far away but we navigate our situations the best we can and it sounds like you're doing great.
Really sorry to hear about your second wife. I'm assuming she was relatively young. That must have been very hard on the kids. Thanks for sharing all of that. What goes on in our daily lives is so connected to our goals that sometimes we have to appreciate our daily existence for the value that it has regardless of a goal set or not attained. I'm not setting any platform for excuses here so keep on pumping but be very proud for the other things that you do.
@IsayUncle
SATURDAY:
Today is a BIG lot clearing day and also a BIG laundry day.
I have lots of laundry to do today because I gotta change my beddings and wash those but also the dogs beddings need to be changed and washed. My four dogs are indoor / outdoor dogs so I try to keep everything pretty clean with their stuff.
I have a student coming over to do a lot of weed eating and I'll be working outdoors all day too so the laundry is gonna have to be squeezed in during breaks and throughout the entire day.
