Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #38 (Monday 9/18/23 - Sunday 9/24/23)

I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I start week #38 in a good place and knock on wood, I hope no emergencies pop up this week. Everybody likes a smooth week and I am no different. I would love a smoothie week this week!

I have three specific goals.
1. Finish my paperwork.
2. Repair my backhoe.
3. Make substantial/significant progress on my lot, hopefully finish it. (my goal is "substantial/ significant progress").

I guess I have a 4th unspoken goal; and that is to maintain my weekly home and job requirements without getting behind on anything by the end of the week.

I hope everyone feels refreshed and ready to go and if not, don't give up, persevere, make your list and get done what you can. Every little bit helps and being caught up like I am this week is a real rarity for me so I'm really glad to share it with you because it was hard to get to this point but if I can do it once in a while, you can too and it feels good.

I wish everyone good success this week.

@CyclingThroughLife

I have to remember to tag you with the new post every week. I automatically think it's gonna show up in the forum but it doesn't. (???). That happened last week too and even I couldn't find it. I finally typed in #37 and found it and It just did the same thing. With #38 in the search bar I found this one.

From your Last Post on week 37, I'm sorry to hear about your migraine. I guess that rain messes you up but it's not a good time to ride a bike. BTW, I looked up Cannondale bikes. They gave me some awesome ideas for around here.

I was wondering if you ever took a break from your exercise routine and I was thinking to myself that it's OK to do that sometimes and I was hoping that you knew that too. Push push push but then sometimes it's OK to take a breath. Just never quit.😀

I'm getting ready to give her an extra push this evening.

Right now is Tuesday Evening:

I'm tired, the time of day is waning and making me want to chill and relax. BUT.... I want to keep my momentum going. I finally got my backlog of paperwork done but I thought it was gonna be done a lot sooner. It's Tuesday evening. I am gonna try to get my two fuel filters changed on my backhoe so on Wednesday I can continue working on my lot.

If I can get started on my lot I have a good chance of getting it done this week. My weather is good for the next few days and I need to take advantage of that.

I really don't feel like getting nasty and dirty this late in the day.....

Wednesday 11:30AM:

I finally got the backhoe running. Changed out the two fuel filters but then I got air in the fuel lines and it took me another full day to get that purged and actually get the backhoe started up and running.

Knock on wood, hopefully I can get a few days working before something else breaks down on it.

I have gotten two of my three goals done but it hasn't been easy. Push push push. It will be so freaking awesome if I can get my third goal done before Monday.

I'm gonna go put all my tools and stuff away and hopefully find a little bit of time before I gotta go back to work to clear the lot some more.

Thursday Morning:

My backhoe still is not running properly.

It is already Thursday and I have not finished Step 2 yet. It is frustrating and discouraging as I watch all my other weekly obligations start to pile up and get behind. I get tired of struggling so hard just to get back to square one.

But if I didn't try to stay on square one, I would have no vision squares of 2.3 or 4 so onward and upward I say. I'll try again to repair my backhoe today.

I'm sorry your backhoe is still not working properly. I admire your drive and determination to get it fixed and get your project done though. Me....I would have given up and tried to find a way to pay someone to come in and get it done for me, either to fix the backhoe so I can get it done myself or someone to actually just do the project.....I have no patience with that sort of thing....I know, giving up isn't the right thing to do, but to save me some aggravation and my mental well being, it would be the thing for me to do.....but.....just from what I know of you from this forum post, I know you have the drive, and probably a plan, to get all your things done....

Here it is Friday, and its the first day I've been able to sit at the laptop and write out my things for the week. This week was mostly a wash....I've been struggling with a migraine on and off for numerous days. I napped, or tried to, or just laid around, not doing anything, in the afternoons more days than I would have liked. Based on my migraine tracking, its mostly weather related, with some lack of sleep tossed in for good measure lol. The prescription meds only work so much...today, so far, I'm back at baseline, I'm functioning, and all seems good. The barometric pressure looks like it will remain steady at least through tomorrow so we will see what happens come Saturday night/Sunday morning when they are calling for storms. Anyway, I was able to get in one 25 mile bike ride earlier this week, and plan on another 25 to 30 miles this morning. Then I need to hit the grocery store for my weekly shop. Tomorrow the boy has a soccer game in the AM. I have a plan to put new floor mats down in the garage gym tomorrow afternoon, if I'm feeling up to it. We don't use our garage to park the car, its for kayak and bicycle storage and a home gym. I'm replacing the old mats with all new ones....we have decided to cover the whole floor this time vs just putting them under the weight pile and equipment. Tomorrow night, the girlfriend and I are going to "The Bon Jovi Experience" at a local theater. We like to go to shows and theater. We go to NYC each year in October or November to see a Broadway show and support the local theaters(there are 2 within an hour and a half drive) as we can. Anyway, tomorrow's show is a Bon Jovi tribute band that has great reviews. We are going to see "Dancing Dream", an ABBA tribute band in October. We go to this one local theater regularly. We've seen numerous plays, comedy shows, Fleetwood Mac and Elton John tribute bands last year and they were all awesome. I'm looking forward it. Ok...I've rambled on long enough...I hope everyone accomplishes what they need to and I am sending good vibes that all will work out well for everyone. Have a great weekend.

WOW, you have so much going on. There is no way in this world I would be able to manage all of that. And I don't do illness well either. So hang in there and I hope your migraines eased up enough that you were able to enjoy yesterday evening at the show. Good job on getting a little bit of biking in but don't forget to take care of yourself and rest if you that's what your body is telling you to do.

Your gym garage sounds really awesome.

I'll probably come back and post a little bit more later on this weekend. But until then keep that bulldog in you, bite hard, hold fast. You got that fighting spirit in you too. I read one of your other posts that said you had a hellacious week at work too, so with all of that going on, I'm going to nickname you Tenacity this week. You might choose not to waste time trying to fix something but you got plenty of tenacity and tons of fight that I respect a lot.

Hey Cycling. Just some quick words of encouragement. I know your work week has already started so I hope your job gives you a little bit of a break this week. I also hope your migraines subside and let you relax some when you can.

Sometimes those bad weeks seem to never end but they do. That's a big reason why I start a new thread every week. It's a reminder to me it's a fresh week. The problems of the past week may still have to be dealt with. For me they often seem weaker as the new week starts..... or I'm more prepared to deal with them more effectively.

Anyway, I hope you have a much better week.
When you get a chance let me know if you finished your gym basement mats and rearrangement. That just sounds so awesome. It seems to me it changes the whole dynamic of the workout area' Kind of like walking into a real gym instead of a basement or garage with exercise equipment, if that makes sense. Plus you're getting it done before the cold weather sets in so you'll have a great place to work out this winter.

Be well and Do well! You can do it.

@CyclingThroughLife you must be so fit 😍 and you go kayaking😮😮 that's so cool. Migranes are the worst, but I learnt a trick... To get rid of headaches, stock your head out the window, and the pane will dissapear😂😂😂

Saturday Morning: All Day: CONTINUE WORKING LOT. Start laundry. Clean and keep kitchen clean.

I finally got my backhoe running the other day and was able to get some work done on my lap in between working on my regular job.

The property that I'm clearing is kind of a long term project but I hope to get to a good stopping point this weekend. Even though I'm way behind; if I work long hours all weekend I might be able to get done what I was hoping for and planning on for this week.

It's still discouraging and stressful that I wasn't able to keep up with my personal chores and tasks this week and probably won't be able to get to too many of them this weekend if I wanna finish that lot up.

I do not and cannot multitask in a productive manner. My little pea brain can only think on one thing at a time and if I don't get that thing done, it's like I can't do anything else that I need to do to keep balance, so everything kind of falls apart and then, and only then can I sort of multitask and force myself to try to put all the pieces back together. I hate it. it does not feel normal.

Sunday Morning: All Day: CONTINUE WORKING LOT. Finish laundry. Clean and keep kitchen clean.

I did pretty good yesterday but it seems the more I do, the bigger the project gets. The more I do I see other areas that I need to do first before I can finish the area that I'm working on.

Even though the project seems to get bigger as I go, the benefits for me and my property are gonna be huge. As I get this one area cleaned out so I can rent out campsites for Tourists, the material that I'm cleaning out I'm using to expand my personal yard for a wrap around driveway.

As good as that is and as good as it sounds I still stress about everything else. I have tunnel vision and have a very hard time multitasking or doing other things that need to be done. As this job gets bigger, I get further and further from a good stopping point.

I'm going to give myself a grace week next week to get my backlog of tasks and chores done. AND then; just commit to gettting this lot as close to a stopping point as possible.
