One thing that always keeps me motivated is....
I beleive that one day my life will change to better, God won
@Laura
that everyday is a new beginning
Definitely my father. He had to raise me and my brother on his own and work and put himself through college.
My children and grandson...
That whole "your past does not define your future" ethos. I have to keep remembering that and that even though I might feel like I am a boring/terrible person, I have the power within me to make an effective change.
I felt super awkward on a multi-day work function recently and got confronted with it (had to spend a lot of one-to-one time with someone by chance). My negative thoughts were telling me 'this will go terribly, they don't like you, what do you have to say' but I tried to power through it by imagining we were great friends and that my opinion is valid and worthy to be heard (the latter part at least is true). Helped me not be a robotic closed off version of myself and influenced how I interacted with everyone else subsequently which was great
Not only thinking that things can change, but that I can chanhe things, somehow
GOD
A friend.
Knowing that one day, things will change.
