The Most Calming Song on the Internet?

While in the throws of a research extravaganza to find something beyond hoovering turmeric to increase my wellbeing I found some doctor talking about a song the internet claims is the most calming as it replicates a steady, serene heartbeat.

Of course these claims are critically nonsense due to everyone being different but here it is anyway. Comments include it helping in cases of depression and anxiety, but hilariously not as a banger to hold down a dance party or with ads popping up like an earthquake.

@communicativePond1728  I listened to that to fall asleep last night.  I personally did not find it to be any better or worse than rain sounds, but I did enjoy it.  Thank you for posting it for more people to find.  It is nice.  🥰

Cool, I also listened to it while sleeping. I'm dealing with more noise than it can cover though. I usually do organic pink noise as it's the only thing I found so far that can cover construction/renovation/traffic/neighbors.

Here's one of them in case you're interested.

@communicativePond1728  Ugh, I so relate.  There is a lot of street noise here from traffic, and I had construction here a few weeks ago.  They were working on cleaning out and reconstructing part of a drainage pipe, right outside of my bedroom window, for about a week.  Early, before sunrise it would begin, until after dark.   😫  I am grateful for the maintenance, but what are the odds, right outside my bedroom window? 🤣

That video is awesome.  I have bookmarked it for tonight.  Very relaxing to see, and hear.  Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰

Outside your bedroom omg...How have you not lost your mind yet? Do you exercise and eat super healthy or something? Thanks for replying and engaging so well with my post by the way...you're so good at this connecting online stuff!

Oh, I also wear earplugs under my headphones...have you done that? It allows me to crank the volume as loud as I need without totally blowing out my eardrums...and still keeps my ears and peace of mind protected when I need to charge my headphones or want to take them off for a while...have you heard of reusable earplugs? Not the wax or foam ones although those are okay...but the rubber that can be washed and reused indefinitely?

@communicativePond1728  It was very double.  Every time I was annoyed and had a short fuse over lack of sleep, I repeated the mantra: "We need functioning drainage pipes.  We need functioning drainage pipes.  Thank you for these people that work in all kinds of weather to keep it all working well."  It did not always put out my fuse, but it did help me cope. 🤣

I have this weird thing about having things in my ears.  And this is the first time I have given it much thought in a long time. 🤔

When I was a kid, I used to get something they called "Swimmer's Ear", and my mom always wanted me to wear ear plugs to try to prevent it.  But, I could never get the ear plugs to fit right, and because of that I have always associated ear plugs with ear aches.

You know what, I am happy that you brought up ear plugs, because I have not thought about this in years, but now is a good time for me to consider that, probably, there are better quality ear plugs available, that probably fit and conform to the shape of individual ears.  I am going to look into that, and overcome a minor trauma, at the same time!  So thank you for the suggestion!  The next time there is heavy work like that, I will know whether or not I can use modern ear plugs! 😃

And I do my best to connect with people in a positive way, so thank you so much for that acknowledgement.  💖

Have a GREAT day, and again, thank you for all of your posts! 😃

You know what I have them renovating basically right above me as I was reading and I did the mantra, changing it to the situation and it worked a bit!

And thanks for bringing the ear stuff up because I actually got swimmers ear too, and pain while flying where my ear wouldn't pop - same thing but with altitude. It's SO painful, I totally forgot about that, but I've been so upset about having to wear earplugs just to live in my home and didn't really make the connection as to why that might be until I read that!

So thanks again for connecting with me online in a positive way - it's unearthing layers I can now work on healing!

I did end up getting a couple ear infections from wearing the earplugs too often without being mindful of self care...definitely the fears and doubts around things in the ear is valid, and like you said, exploring because otherwise they may control us forever in a negative way.

I can say I'm still alive and kicking and willing to learn and grow and help people to prevent what happened to me happening, or become a more conscious person for it, or maybe I can even make money somehow by inventing something to help!

Is there anything you think might work for noise? Some kind of practices, routines or rituals?

@communicativePond1728  I am so happy that my mantra experience helped!  It sounds silly, but it really does help me, so I am so thrilled to hear that!

And also, while I would not wish ear drama on anyone, it is nice to know I am not alone.  LOL

As far as coping with noise, I do not really have a good answer for that.  If I do not know what is causing it or the why, I struggle to deal with it.  I live in a rural community and there are often very loud tractors going back and forth, and I see no animals or materials inside.  Or in this part of the countryside, there are people driving Harley Davidson motorcycles that are EXTRA noisy, and I can get SO annoyed with that.  Honestly, I think it is part of becoming middle age, for me.  I am still healthy and in fairly good shape, just not as strong as I used to be, and thus, more sensitive.

If you come up with ways of coping with noise that work for you, I would love to hear it.  And if I come up with anything, I will let you know to! 😀
