OCD taking over your thoughts
I just want to know that I am not the only one experiencing this... All the people in my life thinks OCD is cleaning and being neat and tidy
But they don't see the sleepless nights tossing and turning because your brain can't stop overthinking
What if someone I love dies?
What if I die?
What if I did not lock the door and get murdered by an intruder?
My parents are getting older what if today was the last time I talked to one of them?
Am I doing enough in my life?
It's like a constant loop playing over and over
My OCD involves a lot of fear around death and losing people I love
It interferes with my daily life because one moment I am fine and the next the thoughts come creeping in
I do not clean because I have OCD, I clean because it's the only time my brain is quiet.
@SavageQueen24
Yes, I understand what you mean 🩷
OCD can be misunderstood and it can be exhausting
I'm sorry you are struggling so much.
What helps me is spraying lavender on my pillows before I sleep.
Listening to music to stop the thoughts and the overthinking.
And journalling through the day, this takes the intensity out of the thoughts and in a way gives my mind space from them 💙

I experience this too. My ocd revolves around keeping everyone safe and alive. The intrusive thoughts that pop up are a lot. I completely understand what you are going through. It is morning for me and I have yet to sleep because of this issue. Im sorry that it is making you feel overwhelmed
@SavageQueen24 I totally understand what you are feeling! This is so true! Every night I lie awake worrying that someone I love will die and that I didn’t get to say goodbye or that something bad will happen to them. I worry that I will die in my sleep. All of these OCD thoughts are so sticky in my brain and people don’t realize that. Everyone glamorizes OCD and just thinks it’s about being neat and clean but it’s so much more than that. I get what you are going through and you aren’t alone 🩷. You can get through this
