I do not have OCD, but I would like to learn. Can someone explain it to me?

Ocd can be anything that causes us to fixate or obsess.
It can come in different forms.
We might not be able to leave the house without checking that everything is off multiple times.
It can come in the form.of having to do daily rituals in order to function.
It's basically anything that we do that is not in moderation and feel like we have to do it, we can have it in thoughts, like thoughts playing in a loop that we can't control.
It can show it's form in many different ways, for many different people 💚
Oh, it's an awful feeling. When it seems like you're going crazy. I had panic attacks because of this.
@MicahMicahMicah when you have OCD/if you’re obsessive for other reasons, if there’s a problem, you do something to solve it. Everyone does that part. What makes it OCD is that after that, you always do that exact thing, it’s a compulsion. If you have something on your hands, everyone washes them or wipes their hands on their pants or whatever fits the scenario. OCD says that from now on, if you ever have stuff on your hand, or if it even feels like you might, you have to do the thing you did the first time to “fix” the feeling
I used to have this thing where if my hand bumped someone else when I was walking in the hall, I had to wipe it off. I never got anything on it, it was just the germs and discomfort of making physical contact with someone.
Also, if a thing gets in your head, you can’t get it out. It’s like hearing a song and it getting stuck, but it could be anything. Sometimes, it can be a violent thought. You don’t want to think it, you want it out, but it just won’t leave.
I have arachnophobia, and I accidentally kept myself up at night when I got the image of tarantula legs stuck in my head. I can see maps of where germs go when people touch things, and it’s like neon paint under a blacklight. It’s really gross, and then I don’t want to touch anything, do anything, or breathe.
Hope it helps!

In my personal experience it's overwhelming dread because the worse case scenario might happen and feel like you have to do all these things to make sure it doesn't happen, it takes over your life.
Did you leave the door locked? Make sure. Are you sure you made sure? Maybe you checked poorly and someone will break into your house and it your fault, make sure. Make sure again.
Find a post saying you are a bad person if you don't repost. Maybe you actually are bad person if you ignore it. It will haunt you if you don't, and you think about the people who would be hurt by this, or everyone you trust hating you because you couldn't just simply repost to save lives.
Find a chainmail letter saying you will die if you don't repost. Maybe this time it will be real, maybe science is missing out on this type of magic and this time you will die if you don't repost. You can't be too sure that won't happen you have to repost that one and the next one that shows up, and the next one, and the next one.
