Trigger warning/// ⚠️ 🛟 ocd support

From my experience & mind set:

our making a big deal out of nothing.

Just stop thinking about it.

Just stop doing (a compulsive such as foot tapping I.e).

Your worried out of nothing.

Chill, don't care about it.

Hey are you crazy?

It happened ages ago, why won't you just move on?

Can you relate?

How do think we can change those lines to be supportive instead of judgemental?

What are some lines you Heard that bothered you?

I feel free to answer as much as you like.

Looking forward hearing from you.

@NobleSeeker Hey, I’m sorry if this is a bit messy, but I wanted to share something I’ve been thinking about. I have PCD, and I know a lot of people around me say things like:

  • “Just stop thinking about it.”

  • “You’re making a big deal out of nothing.”

  • “Just stop doing that (like tapping or whatever).”

  • “You're worried about nothing.”

These types of things just make me feel worse because it’s not as simple as “just stopping.”

Can you relate? I know people say these things because they don’t understand, but it really hurts. But my new friends are really understanding, which is great. They set things up for me and don’t make me feel bad.

How do you think we could change those lines to be more supportive, instead of judgmental? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Also, just so you know, I wrote everything in this message and ChatGPT helped me frame it in better English. My English isn’t always that good, and I sometimes struggle with spelling or grammar, but I really wanted to share. When I make mistakes, some people say “Sorry, we can’t understand you” and that can be tough. but all the views are mine hehe.

@gentleCurrent2493 So, instead of hearing “just stop thinking about it,” I wish people would say things like:

  • “I know this is hard for you, but I’m here to help however you need.”

  • “I believe in you, and I’m here to listen whenever you need to talk.”

  • “If you need space or time to process, I’m here.”   sorry i read the messsage after reading chatgpt forog to put m main views i had to write them again^^

I can’t think of anything to add to your list, but I’ve heard almost all of these about my OCD and anxiety. You’re not alone
