Who diagnosed you? How were you diagnosed?
I’ve been suffering with anxiety issues for several years. Well, as I look back, it’s probably been since I was a teenager, but didn’t recognize it. In the last five years, my anxiety has really gone off the charts. Lately though, I’m wondering if it’s not so much anxiety but OCD
I obsessively worry. As soon as I am done, worrying about one thing, I start on a different topic. Of course that triggers anxiety. So I’m not sure where I’m working from with my issues at this point.
I was wondering for those of you with OCD, did you start with a primary care physician, did you have to go to a psychiatrist, where did you get your diagnosis? I’m thinking of starting with my primary, and seeing what she can provide initially. I have a therapist, but not a Psychiatrist, and I’m assuming that’s probably where I have to go next.

just seeing this post in my travels and going it a bump for others to see <3
@thoughtfulmomma I've been through the wringer with diagnosis stuff and like you, it started with finding out I had GAD. I found out I had OCD when I was diagnosed with autism as an adult.
If you were to start the diagnostic process, what you would do is ask your main doctor to refer you to a psychiatrist who would test you for OCD. Should the results indicate OCD, you might get some suggestions on how to go forward with treatment, especially because you're in therapy already.
As for testing, you'll probably have to do questionnaires like the OCI or the YBOCS, and then talk more in depth about what you're experiencing.
