I fear not being able to control myself
Hey! Before anything, truly thank you for your time reading this. Over the years I’ve developed a trauma of unconsciously repeating mistakes others around me make, more specifically my mom. I fear not being able to sustain a proper judgment of what’s right or wrong, and she has been diagnosed with OCD. My dad tells me to just ignore whenever she does something like that, but I fear my inner “unconscious self” could learn from it somehow since it happened before. I honestly don’t really know what to do as the pandemic has made our ties much closer in general. Does anyone know what could help me out please 🙏?
@gianca098 It must be scary to go through this. Can you think of a reason that's made you repeat the mistakes of others? How is your relationship with each of these people? Fear can help you be alert of potential risks, maybe it would be helpful to think about what a random person should do if put in the same situation as yours whenever you feel like unsure of your judgement? Good luck!
Thank you for reaching out on the forums. It's very scary knowing you could do something wrong without purposely trying to. My suggestion would be to consciously point out each "wrong" thing she does to yourself, and remain aware of exactly what it is. Learning and remembering what she does wrong, you can catch yourself if you're ever about to do it
