Parenting with Anxiety
Hi everyone,
I’m a parent of two young girls and since having kids I’ve noticed my anxiety is definitely at its peak. I am worried about anything and everything to the point that it’s exhausting. Just always anxious here that something could happen to my babies, you know?
Overprotective is definitely the word, but I cant seem to help it. We’ve lived through Covid, IVF, and just everyday life. The world is not exactly a stable place right now.
Anyways, Are there any other mama’s/papa’s/guardians out there that can relate here? Or have any tips for calming my anxious mama-bear heart?

I can totally relate to what you are going through. As parents we tend to worry about our kids literally forever, even when they are adults and are off living their own lives. (I just had my eldest daughter leave the house) But especially these days where there is so much external noise 24/7 and constant bombardment of information, it makes sense why so many people are anxious and overwhelmed.
My personal remedy is that I will completely unplug and take a break when I notice my anxiety levels are getting to an unmanageable level. I will drop out of social media, turn off the news and spend more time in nature. This is where I feel grounded, I can recharge and then reconnect. Sometimes you need to press that reset button.
When it comes to anxiety I try and remind myself of a couple of things. One; to only worry about the things that are directly in my control and two; to not concern myself with things that aren’t. That way I am not wasting my energy and I am not allowing myself to get overloaded with stressful thoughts.
I hope some of my reflections are useful to you, hang in there mama, you are doing a great job! 😊
@IttyBittyPinecone I lived through Covid and almost died.
