Reduce Nursing 5xs a day - Struggle with Bottle Feeding
I'm a mom of a 9-month-old boy who's struggling with nursing and refuses to take a bottle. I'm feeling frustrated because he's not eating consistently, and I'm looking for any tips or tricks to help with the transition from nursing to bottle-feeding. I’d also love recommendations for bottles that worked well for your child.

I’m a mum of 2 myself, though they’re both nearing or at 30!
One of my children had trouble “latching on.” At that time there were warm and knowledgeable people called “lactation specialists.” One of them sat with me while my child tried to latch on. Turned out my baby's frenulum (a little piece of skin) was hindering her progress. We opted against surgery so what I would do to meet her needs was to express milk, and then we fed her with a syringe. She soon got bigger and stronger and was able to latch on..
We did transition kind of early to a bottle (about 12 months) — but unfortunately it’s been a number of years. I’m aware that there are a variety of different bottle/nipple styles, but a lactation specialist or someone who’s gone through this more recently would be a better source of information in this department.
In any case, I hope you and your baby are able to get the help and encouragement you need to help your baby receive adequate nutrition.
If I were you, I would probably start with getting a referral from my ob/gyn.
