Hi everyone,

I want to ask a question regarding bpd and work. But first, I'm not diagnosed professionally diagnosed but I'm sure that I've bpd. I knew about other things(symptoms of bpd) but recently, I found out that bpd can affect your work life as well. I tried many things but I failed. I mean, I tried this profession for some days and I liked it but then after some days, I started feeling dizzy, had no interest. And this happened every time. Whenever I tried to do something(whether it's coding, art, etc.) I just couldn't. I wanted to ask if you've felt like this? If yes, then what jobs or which profession would you recommend? I wanna leave where I'm asap but for that, I need to work. But as I explained above, I just couldn't focus on any one thing.

I’m not sure I have advice, but I am on the same page. I was a veterinary assistant for 5 years, but left my job because it did not pay well and gave me no time to do art, which I love. I’ve been through many job changes since.

I’ve thought a lot about careers, and have decided to base it on the rest of my life.. maybe that can give you direction? For example, in the short term, I’m working a tolerable retail job that doesn’t overwork me so I can work on my artwork and eventually freelance. I’m trying to freelance specifically with the goal to move somewhere quiet and not have to worry about commuting to a job in the city. I previously wanted to be a zookeeper but knew I didn’t want to live in the city for it. Thinking of your job as a small part of a bigger picture can help you decide where to go without basing your entire identity on it and feeling so much pressure to be completely interested in it.

I’m happy to talk with you if you feel like you want to brainstorm some ideas. :) best of luck to you!

For art, you need creativity, creative mind. I don't have that. I grew up in a violent home. I don't like anything. I mean, I do but only for sometime as I explained above. But currently, I don't like anything. I understand that in today's time, majority of people just work for money bc money matters. They don't see if they love that work. From their perspective, they're right because money indeed matters. But If j can't love that work tgat I'm doing, I start feeling dizzy and I don't have patience anymore and I know it's a bad thing bc results take time and it's a process when it comes to career but I just wanna leave this place so badly. This place, ppl affect me too much. Completely toxic. I just need to do something.

I can try a job like working in a retail store but I have too much anxiety that I can't focus in a crowded place. It's hard for me even to take a small decision.
