Can you have BPD when you're under 18?
I am under 18, and I have all BPD symtomps. Somehow it's scary for me. Knowing that you might have another mental disorder when you already have a bunch is scary. I couldn't even get up from my bed sometimes. And I have extreme mood swings every single day. It annoys me and probably annoys people too. I don't know what to do, honestly. Is this really BPD, and can you have BPD under 18 yrs old?
Like mentioned a lot of professionals won't diagnose someone under 18 because BPD really can be as simple as a difficult hormonal teenage thing that will resolve itself as the person gets older..
However, disorders don't just start once you turn a certain age. Me and my psych believe my BPD symptoms really started to show around 16/17 for me, but I wasn't diagnosed until I was 20.
