Hi I’m 21 and have recently been diagnosed with bpd and I just feel so empty when I’m on my own how do I cope with this without being self destructive?

Hi Levi, it can be so tough not to be self-destructive in life. Some of the things that have helped me when I felt self-destructive are listening to music, looking at my purrito on my desk, and calling a friend.

Since you feel so empty try listening to music and doing something you love. One thing I’ve learned is working on myself. I do yoga in the morning and have a filling breakfast. When I felt lost I went back to school. But what I’m saying creating goals and focusing on them. Create your world not expecting your world to be created for you. Just thank and that true desire in your heart that’s proof sent beforehand to indicate it’s yours already!

Your not alone feeling empty is very common and it can feel hopeless just no that you can feel fulfilled and live a what other people call normal life it just takes us alot of work figuring out what bring you peace what distracts the mind in a healthy manner and what coping skills we need to use for each emotions Feeling episode for me I had to track my episodes Feeling write them down write how I was feeling when and why I thought it started and then write down what made me come out of it or get through it then after a week or even a month you have a guideline to triggers times or days that it seemed to be worse what things helped most to get through them and from there you have to be willing to explore new coping skills see what one work and what ones don't and you have to take time to actually learn what bpd is to then learn the way of living with it !! I hope this helps even a little bit sorry if I'm all over the place can't help it... positive thought with enough dedication to strive to embrace what we live with can give you enough power strength to almost defeat the problem at hand with out even realizing how you won because it becomes so natural
