Hey guys! I just wanted to know if this episode I had is related to BPD because I was googling it and saw that it fell under the spectrum. Anyways two days ago I was trying to finish my final for my English class right before it was due at 11:59 (keep in mind I was high off two 600 mgs edibles) and I started losing sensation in my legs, and it hit me. I felt like I wasn’t in my own body anymore, like I was just a Spector. I tried to move but I would just freak out and cry because I had 0 control over my emotions. The numbness started traveling upwards and sooner than later I did not feel anything anymore. It felt like I was swimming in the ocean without something to put my feet on and I felt as if I wear to move my bones would shatter and it was a wave kind of sensation but followed by pain. I also have vertigo and it did not help my situation 🙏😻. Eventually I had enough of this and went to sleep. I woke up and I finally had sensation back, I told my therapist that I might have dissociated or something and she just blew me off. So if you know what I went through please tell me, thank you!!!!!

Hello--I'm not a therapist or medical professional, but what you're describing sounds like it may have been a dissociative experience, possibly in response to the edibles you mentioned.

"There are reports of marijuana producing depersonalization in some individuals. Most often, this can occur when the person mixes marijuana with some other substance, such as alcohol, cocaine, an opioid drug, etc. The depersonalization that occurs as a result of marijuana use typically resolves rapidly once the effects of the drug wear off."

BPD can sometimes include dissociation but it also tends to include a lot of other experiences (e.g. strong fear of abandonment, difficulty maintaining relationships, impulsive behavior, mood swings, self-harm). So BPD wouldn't be my first guess from what you've described.
