Help
I vent all the damn time, but nothing helps. I feel so different from others. And I want a friend who gets me. Accepts me as I am, even tho I am very dry (sorry). I try, but I end up being dry and uninteresting. And I talk about mental health a lot. A toppic people usually dont pay enough attention to. But I feel so different from these loud, always joking people. I am very serious. I've been trough complex trauma.

Hi there 💜 I read this post and also your other post that you wrote, and replying to both here

So much of what you wrote feels really relatable
1) A lot of socialization can feel like noise... both on a sensory level and in terms of the quality of what's being expressed. 😊
2) You mentioned having complex trauma--which of course gives you a different set of experiences, different topics/concerns that you care about (e.g. mental health), etc. Not having anyone who really connects on those more serious things can be a pretty alienating experience.
3) I noticed you're on a teen account. I think as people get older, the situation of "I'm surrounded by aggressively obnoxious/immature children" can get easier in certain ways:
- People tend to self-segregate just based on their career and friendships, and you also have more control over your environment, so you tend to spend more time with people that you're similar to and see less of people that you don't get along with as well.
- People sometimes mature or develop more complex selves because the social pressures and incentives shift (i.e. being more adult-like and responsible becomes something that's prized and starts to grant social status in certain spheres)
- People tend to undergo experiences that make it necessary to care about and understand mental health; life has a way of polishing rough edges

I'd be happy to message back-and-forth if you're interested. 💜
When you say you vent all the time but it doesn't help, is it like the responses that you get back don't feel like they really remedy the underlying situation of "I'm pretty different and people don't seem to understand or connect with who I am and what i care about"?
