@QuietMagic
Please add me.
💗 How are you feeling today? I am tired, stressed, and exhausted. But okay, getting by
💗 What's something you've found helpful for handling emotions? Deep breathing and snuggling up to my fur babies—they are my service animals; they help me inside and outside of the house. They are my life. I also journal or read a book.
@Rose1324
Hi there. 💜 Sorry that things have been exhausting lately--"getting by" is sometimes the best possible outcome at a given moment. The fur babies sound lovely! 😊 Are they dogs?
Could you put the message "Please add me." in this thread?

(I usually manually update the taglist in the check-in thread each week as needed either way, but that would be the official taglist thread.)
@QuietMagic
No there my cats they are everything to me. Thank you for you reponse.
@QuietMagic
How are you feeling today?
not sure how we feeling today kinda a mix of many emotions right now.
What's something you've found helpful for handling emotions?
for us it mostly just allowing self to feel and not trying to numb or run from our feelings. if that make any since to others we not sure.
@stormieandpaws
Hi there. 💜 It makes sense, just letting feelings be what they are. I guess it helps with processing them and prevents them from building up in the background.
@QuietMagic
that what we keep being told. seem we was taught wrong about emotions as a kid. we always believed it was bad to show emotions to others. due to if you did they be used as a weapon agnist you later. this was a big teaching from our dad. he saw our mom who very emotional as weak too. he even go do not be weak like your mom. so it very hard for us to just let emotions be and not judge them as weakness and being bad. this even with positive emotions. so that why we being told to just let them be and allow self to feel them.
@stormieandpaws
That teaching from your dad is quite a contrast from your current beliefs! How did you manage to de-program and come around to feeling like it's okay to have emotions and let them happen?
@QuietMagic
we had a great therapist online for a very long time she helps us for free. think it been about 20 years we known her. she been trying for long time to get us to this place but seem we could not get here until we fully moved out of the abuse think we was scared we still be hurt as in yelled at and put down but now we free from the abusers we able to start being ok with feeling emotions we still fear labeling them think it due to we feel by labeling then it make them more real
we had to do a lot of deprogramming work to us it like rewiring the mind as a child pathways were made that very unhealthy so to get more healthy they have to be changed as in rewired to healthy beliefs this not easy to do and take time but one with help can do this we been working on it for very long time as you have to take each belief and challenge it with truth that hard work but if one keeps at it and has other healthier people helping them it can be done over time we still have a long ways to go in our healing but we making progress every day it seems yes at time we have set backs but we keep going forward on this healing journey
also there a christian book we read a lot of it that helped too this explains the book some

we found it very helpful
