Goal-Setting with SMART Goals Template.
We conducted this activity recently under the self-esteem challenge. Participants liked it tremendously and wanted us to host these again at regular intervals to assist everyone in setting their weekly/monthly goals.
So for the benefit of our community I'm sharing a part of the script we host as a template.
You can fill in these questions anytime!
First we will select one (1) goal to focus on right now and make sure it fits in your long term plans,
Q.1. What is your ultimate/long term goal?
Q.2. What Intermediate Goals can you set on your way to your long term goals?
Activity - We will use the SMART goals template to set a goal right now!
Q3. S in SMART stands for Specific: What exactly will you accomplish? Choose one goal you want to work on.
Ideally select the first milestone in your long term goal as the first goal or select a weekly/monthly goal.
Q4. This brings us to: Measurable: How will you know when you have reached this goal?
Goals can be measured by the time you spend on them, remember what is worth doing is worth doing incomplete! the efforts you put in count even when the end result is not achieved, So you can measure your goal in various ways. Make a check-list, record time spend on them, see how far you have come.
Q5.Achievable: Is achieving this goal realistic with effort and commitment? Do you have the necessary resources to achieve this goal? If not, how will you get them?
Resources can be time, skills, economic.
Q6. Relevant: Why is this goal significant to your life? Does it need to be achieved in this stage of your life?
Q7. Timely: When will this goal be achieved? When do you see yourself finishing this goal or when will you reevaluate your approach towards this goal next?
Remember! even if you do not reach a goal, you can always set it again and try a different strategy to reach it.
Check-in: You can now make intermediate milestones in your long term goals and frame these milestones with a SMART goals template.
Q8. Do you feel more comfortable now with setting goals?
Have any suggestions on the kind of activities we should have? Feel free to drop them in DM.

@Xe
Thanks for sharing! I love the general principle behind SMART of taking a desire and coming up with a plan for realizing it by breaking it down into smaller parts that are each practically/concretely possible to accomplish. 😊
Thank you for writing this @Xe !!
