A poem for anyone still lost in the forest
My Forest
I make my way behind the tree
My chest begins to heave
I lean up close to the bark
Curl up, try to breathe
I take in my surroundings
Try to gauge where I am
I’m trying my best not to end up
Lost in the woods again
I look around
The trees are different, but the same
Another side of the same old coin
There are no people either
No one to blame
No one to show me the way
I try to stand up
I feel a branch push me down
My breathing quickens
Tears begin to well
I curl up tight
I can’t remember when I fell
I’ve been here before
Not once, not twice
Every choice I make
Is a roll of the dice
I don’t know how long I’m down
I only know I am somehow up again
I am walking
I am jogging
I am trying to find the end
But there is no end
No end in sight
No end ever to be found
There’s only me
And the forest that grows
Enveloping me in it’s sound

This reminds me of my battle with depression. It can be a lonely road, like wandering aimlessly through a dark forest. It can make one lose all hope.
No forest goes on forever. Though sometimes you need a guide. A clue. Hope to cling to. An answer to the cries.
So let your stream of consciousness flow so others may learn and grow with you. With help, you may find you don't need to find a way out of the forest, you can simply burn it down.
@DarkAsNight33 I loved this, it was awesome and how you ended it was great too. Thank you for sharing. 🤗
