Dark Potion
There's this structure,
That everyone builds their life around.
And I used to stumble in,
I'm pretty sure the architects were laughing at me.
I wanted to know all the things I couldn't feel,
Spent some time with things I shouldn't feel.
I was watching for a specific color, yours,
Binocular vision, but not tunnel vision.
No, I was so flexible,
That I bent myself into contortions of the possessed.
They recommended Dark Potion to me,
To balance out the tyranny of light,
They recommended Dark Potion,
A classic taste to keep us up all night.
Somehow I knew the robots would take over,
They come to address the grinning damned,
Grinning, shambling, they've come,
To drag me to h311 again,
Looking so very pleased to see me.
I could dunk myself like a donut,
Buddy, I'm sweet.
I could just relax in the heat,
Let the steam take away my breath.
They recommended Dark Potion to me,
It feels so good to lose control.
They recommended Dark Potion,
So that I can drink my own soul.
The animal in the code, you'd be surprised,
You'd be shocked what grows in the dark,
Serrated, my words, serrated and jagged,
Sickly sweet with a venom that smells like life.
We're a generation that grew up alongside,
Weβre like a dark house on a summer day.
Haunted, but not so, so unreasonable,
It's just a little lonely to see everything.
Yeah, they recommended Dark Potion,
To help us forget about the view up top.
They recommended Dark Potion,
To make sure what goes up has to drop.
@Torean πππ wow you really poured all your emotions in to that poem π your words are unsettlingly true. That's a very powerful dark poem, I'm so glad you open up and show yourself through poetryπ hugs you tightly π I love you π and remember you have so much light in you aswellππ
Thank you so much π and I love you too β€οΈ huggles and so do you. It's tough to show it because I never know what people will think. Sometimes that's part of the fun though.
I have no idea what this means but it sounds good <3
Thank you! π Hm.. it's mostly about my early teen years before I had a car... The aspect of them that I was left alone in a dark house most of them time when I wasn't at school. The Internet was fairly new too. I dunno, a lot of stuff happened in that chapter of life, and this is the mess that I came up with about it.
@Torean
Thanks for this heartfelt expression. I see it means something specific to you.
The dark things in life can strangely provide comfort. I have fallen into darkness before, and the void filled a void, but made it larger, darker. I was contorted, taken farther and farther from feeling remorse. But I knew myself, I knew what to expect. Now a regret, I look back and ask: why couldn't I detect? Why couldn't I see the light in me? I sometimes detest my past self, but use it as a tool to build a mind of health.
Your words are very moving. I really like your style. I hope you're okay, friend.
@Torean
Thanks for sharing.
For me it talked about how the darkness can become a place of comfort and habit, where we are not seen, judged and we don't stand out. We are enveloped by our own thoughts and our own idea of self, allowing us to just be but ultimately the light comes through and shines the spotlight on what we need to step out ππ₯°
Thank you! π And I really like your take on this. Maybe the light really does come through with insight. β€οΈ
