I wish I could write a poem that would bring you back
I wish I could write a poem that would
Bring you back to me
I wish I could write a good poem, at least
On this day, one long, painful year ago
You stopped talking to me for good
Since then, I daydream of you, religiously
There's a full moon out tonight,
I'm ovulating, and it's been one year, exactly
Since I began to rot from your absence
Can you feel the pull?
The full moon glows on me as it glows on you
My heart and my body aches for you, as it did a year ago
One year and millions of tears, since then
We were at the right place at the wrong time
I can barely breathe without your love
This grief, all-consuming, all too powerful
A whole year gone by, intoxicated by it
I filled your absence in every way I possibly could
Isn't it ironic how I shared a favorite quote with you,
About how in one's absence, your presence is even louder
How this made you cry, and now you have proven it true
I am never really alone, because your absence is here
It started raining as I write this, nature must be showing me
Your tears for me, as rainfall, on the same night we parted
Guess I was always right,
it was too good to be true
Our love could never be an even fit
For we had to lose one another
And love one another, in different times
But what's left is an unfinished story
Maybe I should make a painting
That perfectly resembles what we had
I'll just need to make sure to leave it incomplete
@peaceandblessings
I believe that a good poem is one that communicates something that touches us.
and you have very successfully and eloquently communicated the heartbreak of losing someone you love. I'm sorry for your loss and the pain you are going through.
Congratulations on your poem. I'm sorry that your main wish is out of your hands. That's often so hard to accept.
Love, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
@peaceandblessings I loved this, it was awesome. Thank you for sharing. 🤗
