Poems of a Quiet Poet.
I thought I had given up writing... But I guess I hadn't. There's still a part of me that wants to continue writing. But since I no longer have a safe space to express myself freely I decided to create this forum to hopefully continue writing. Leave a comment, or don't, I don't really mind.
Ghost in the shadows
A million questions asked, a million more created.
You left me to wonder what I'm here for.
Thunder cracks overhead as the stormcloud of my pain leaves a trail behind me.
You created this... So why can't you take it away.
I was berated for something I never had control over.
The burden you left me with is something not even the strongest soldier could bear to carry alone.
But yet here I am trying as hard as I can to keep my message in the bottle.
I wear the scars you left me as a symbol of my survival.
But parts of me have already started to decompose.
You made sure that the pain would come back to haunt me over and over again until I break.
You taunt me with your power, and yet I have nothing to fight back with.
My eyes clouder over with the dark mist of your control.
You don't know me anymore, but yet you still have strings attached.
You never really left did you?
But yet, you left me here to suffer alone.
@IzzyGamer Your writing carries so much emotion and honesty, and I’m really sorry you’ve had to hold all of this pain on your own. Thank you for sharing something so heavy and real. It takes courage to let those feelings breathe. I wanted to offer a few words back, just something from me to you… here are my words for you:
@ShadowyourCircle
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
@IzzyGamer you are always welcome!💐

hi nice poem we at a time thought we had given up writing but we found we had not it only was a break in writing we now believe once a writer always a writer but at times one will set it beside too then pick it up again we went years without writing anything but then started writing again we found it a cycle in life over time now that we 55yr looking back we can see this too
writing is a great way to heal too
@stormieandpaws
I guess I've always loved writing, it was something I had always done when I was younger then stopped for some reason, but picked it up again just recently. But I was forced to quit it for a while due to something happening. But I guess Its just something that's apart of me now, something I can't really quit.
@IzzyGamer
understand we same way too it becomes a part of who ones is for us big part of our healing journey too
No Stars to Follow
Why did you follow me.
you caught me lurking in the shadows, trying desperately to escape from the world.
Don't tell me your sorry.
You hurt me far more than I ever believed you could.
Hiding behind yourself because you don't dare show your true colors.
Echoes are not an answer.
Fell so deep I couldn't see.
I never knew I could hurt so much.
There is an endless maze existing inside my mind.
The betrayal hurt far more than words ever could.
I've tried to pull myself out of the dark, but I am an eternal prisoner.
Every part of me is screaming to run.
But where will I go?
I can run, but I cant hide.
Disconnection
I watch as life moves forward- continuing without me very being really "here"
Life feels like a dream I never woke up from.
The dissollusion weighs on me, making every step feel like a burden.
Pieces that were once the key to my survival were broken and left behind long ago.
Free me from the cage that has left me trapped for so long.
Turn back the clock and let everything fall back into place.
I cant take much more before everything around me falls apart.
Images flood my mind until I cant take it anymore.
Its easier to retreat into my mind than to face the chaos that surrounds me.
The world carries on and im just a shadow of the past.
Disconnection is easier than the cruelty that plays on repeat.
Snap and Break
If only the storm in my mind would cease to exist.
The clouds may clear but the sun never shines and the darkness lingers.
Is this the end?
Or is it the beginning of the end.
The lies are tangled and weaved together so tightly that you can't see the real truth anymore.
You surrender and let the darkness take over.
It doesn't happen all at once but instead occurs through one small slip in the cracks.
It takes control and locks away the person you once were.
You eventually lose yourself hiding behind the mask.
The flicker light burning inside your chest becomes nothing but a distant memory.
Does this story have a happy ending?
Or does it instead leave a foreboding cliffhanger.
Imagine
Imagine being locked inside of a room...
With the thing that you fear the most.
You want to run.
But you frozen in place.
Your feet are glued to the floor and your stomach in knots.
You stare into its eyes.
And you wish you could be anywhere else.
But you can't run.
Imagine being locked inside you head...
The demon that pulls the strings never puts an end to the endless puppet show.
You can be the loudest one in a room with ever saying a single word.
your head swirls with a million different thoughts.
Where's the switch to make it all go away.
You wish you could escape.
But there's nowhere to hide.
Imagine wanting to stay in a place where you've never felt welcome.
You want to leave... But you also want to stay.
What happens if you leave?
You'll wander until everyone around you forgets who you once were.
They look for you...
But your too lost to be found.
You can try to run away from it all.
But you'll never find what your looking for.
You can try to hide.
But eventually you'll be found.
You can stay.
But you'll only hurt yourself more...
