*Forward note - I hope you enjoy. This poem is about a time when I was forced to be on meds, and it kept going really badly no matter what they put me on. Therapy is what really helped me in the end. It's part of why I'm really grateful for this place, and just know that if you see any mental health professionals, you deserve to have one that listens to you. They usually know what's best, but your mental health is the important part.

I can see the cockroaches,
I feel sleazy as if,
I just got dunked face-first,
In a cooled-down deep-fat fryer.
And I know deep down,
The oxygen isn't draining from the room.
But I know deep down,
That I can't brush this taste out of my mouth.
They gotta find my puzzle piece,
Trial and error.
I can't feel my cheek,
I can't remember.
What's my imbalance?
Well, I have a suggestion.
The whole world's unbalanced,
And it's not just depression.
There’s things unaddressed,
And I've found my voice,
But they aren't listening,
And I don't have a choice.
Not just a change of treatment plan,
I'd love to change the institution,
Because sometimes meds are helpful,
But in my case it was body pollution.
The important thing,
Was reaching out,
But I gotta be careful,
Of which helping hand I grab.
I can't see the cockroaches now.
But I can recall seeing between the lines,
Falling through the cracks,
But they also lead everywhere,
Anywhere but here.
@Torean 👏👏👏 beautifully said 💖 and you are so right everyone is different so what works for one is not going to work for everyone. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with meds, but I'm so glad your here 💖 I love you 💗

I'm with tiny on this one!
I relate hard to this. 8 months of running the medication gauntlet, landing me on a med for 10 years that wasn't right for me. Yet I still have *some* faith in the system! It probably does need some changes though, you're right. You shouldn't have had to experience that </3 no-one should.
